Best unarmed weapons?
So, like anyone who decided to go the unarmed route, I've been extremely disappointed in the weapon variety. Near as I can tell, boxing gloves are the worst despite being rare, knuckles are a minor step up and relatively common, and powerfists/deathclaw gauntlets are both at the tippy top and insanely rare. To add to the disappointment, powerfists are better than gauntlets while being nearly identical to begin with.

Is there anything else? Anything at all? Or is it really a complete dead end so early on?

I'm 20 hours in, and I've only just encountered my first set of boxing gloves. It's a shame, because I like doing evil punchy playthroughs of Fallout games

Oh, and are there really no Mega Power Fists in the game?

you can upgrade the arms of your power armor with mods for unarmed extra dmg :3
Only if you have high intelligence, unfortunately.

...And I'm really not sure why you can't use unarmed weapons in power armor to begin with. Was it not bad enough that it was horribly neglected? Sadly, I highly doubt a mod to fix that will exist in time for me to make use of it.

Which could not possibly be any less relevant to the point.

This may be shocking to learn but when you ask 4 questions in one post and make a bunch of statements people may respond to a variety of things, if you don't want people commenting on those things then don't include them in the first place.
Four questions, and you didn't address a single one.

Bravo, sir.
The best unarmed weapon I found was the Deathclaw Gauntlet, I then upgraded it with a workbench (not very expensive) it does 49dmg, has a chance to disarm, and stagger opponents, and is just awesome.

Unfortunetely, my character isn't focused on unarmed, so I just gave it to Piper the Barbarian

You can find it on the top floor of the comic book store. Easiest way to get there is to just start the quest located in Good Neighbor, the memory pod place, to the right of the girl on the first floor there's a door with ghoul inside it, talk to him and he will talk about a show and want you to go fetch some stuff which will be the comic book place

I think the closest there is is getting a Named power fist from a named enemy.

Oh right, I completly forgot. You can't use a power fist and power armor at the same time.

You do a good job of ignoring the parts that make you wrong. If you keep doing it you may actually convince yourself you are right every once in a while.
Unarmed is kinda a dead end past level 30ish. Unfortunately the best one was the furious penetrating powerfist you already found from Swan. I would recommend swaping to Melee weapons if you're a strength build, the Super Sledge has a higher damage ceiling.

I get that you're obsessed with being pedantic and making inane comments, but it's really tiresome when you have nothing to add to the discussion at all.

Yeah, I only wish I had known earlier on how much more variety melee had to offer. As it is, I already have four perks dumped into unarmed, and nothing in melee. I could probably fix that with console commands or something, but...

I don't know, I just wish things had panned out a little more. Had a lot more fun in past titles with this route.

Honestly, I probably would. I wouldn't even consider it cheating. More like, rebuilding.

Yeah, I'm giving it strong consideration. I did some comparisons and it seems like a modded super sledge with equivalent perks is the best way to go, unarmed or melee. Especially if I can get insanely lucky and find a legendary one.

Or that's what it seems like, anyways. It's all a lot more unclear with melee, since you actually have choices.
With unarmed weapons, they're all medium speed. Melee weapons vary, so Super Sledge is best in terms of raw power, but it's really slow. So you have options depending on how you want to balance speed vs power.

Oh I know, I took that into account. Super Sledge honestly isn't too much slower in terms of regular hits, and it appears that every hit with it is worth about 1.5x hits with a powerfist. In VATS, it's 5 hits versus 4 between the two, so that's a no brainer.
I might be silly but Knuckles are not that bad. I am lvl32 about and running around with a Bladed(less ap cost special) pair of knuckles and I am 2 sometimes 3 hitting people. Have not even come across power fist or deathclaw gauntlet. o and i do like my jet!
I think that this time FO4 has completely nerfed the unarmed way:

¿Why? Too many reasons:

- 1º Only 4 weapons in all the whole game.
- 2º Poor modules
- 3º Unarmed CAN NOT be used with Powerarmor. Melee weapons can do this. (I just hate this point)
- 4º DMG a little bit weak compared with other Melee weapons. (This is my personal point of view)
- 5º No Special Techniques...like NV Only a few in VATS mode (Like the suplex)
- 6º Modules of the power armor for unarmed weapons are ridiculous.
- 7º BERSERK Perk of Strong ONLY affect to melee weapons, not to Unarmed...WHY!!??
- 8º Ninja Perk is now bugged. It only affect 4,5X of damage instead melee weapons that appear correctly 10X damage.

I'am a great unarmed fan, and i will continue using the unarmed way despite all this nerf ♥♥♥♥... This is not like NV...
