THE CASTLE - Settlement power at 24, but stays "red" like I need more?
I have tried to build I ♥♥♥♥ you not.... 20 generators with like 100+ power... and it still stays red like it needs more. am I missing something here? or is it just bugged out? thanks.

Could mean you are using more power than you have. Could also mean that you haven't wired your generators correctly. Keep in mind the castle comes with some electrical devices already installed, notably the highest-tier water resource which consumes a good amount of power on its own.

in the castle settlement, you have to build power generators for the main broadcast tower. on top of that, I have laser turrets that are powered properly among other things. it still stays red.

You need to attach a cable from the generator to the power using item.

While in workshop mode:
Look at generator, press space, look at power using item, press space. If the cable can't reach you'll need to build a connector, either a power pole or a wall/ceiling/floor connector, and connec the cable to it, then to an other connector or the power using item.

Im 99% sure it's because you havent't connected the premade structures. Look for wiring on the water-side of the castle walls. Hook those up to the generator and have plenty of power to spare for it.

I know how the poower system works, everything is connected and running properly through wiring. the "red" on the power display indicator is supposed to mean that you do not have enough power to power things in your settlement. everything has power though and I have already been through the mission where you power the large radio tower so that's proper as well. I guess my game might be wiffed. Meh

Hm.... I think you may be right. I will def check into it, as I have not really been around the outside walls too much, none the less connected anything back there.

try connecting the generators together (one primary, rest connected to it)... fixed for me

There's actually a connector on the inner ring of the wall near the water. Look for the door immediately right of the workbench and look for a window. You should be able to connect to a pylon there.

I've noted that user ThePathOfBlood said there are two connectors on the radio tower at The Castle. I have connected the one immediately on top of the radio transmitter control station but cannot see the other one. I've looked all around the tower and can't see a second connector.

Can anyone tell me exactly where to look for the elusive second connector... Thanks!

its actually the console attached to the radio tower itself.. should flash white just like any item that you can connect to the grid

Meant to come back here to let you know, I found the WATER PURIFIER on the outside of the wall, an hooked up power to it.... THAT WAS the problem! thanks man. SOLVED>

Make sure all your cables are connected and you are not running it through a switch that is off. If the power is read, that indicates that your main system, requiers more power then is being provided, if you are building generators and the power is not going out of the red, but the number is still going up, it means your system is not completely connected at that settelment.

Sweet. Glad to have helped

A quick tip reference the power icon staying red. I finally found out the issue I had at The Castle settlement.

As mentioned by other contributors... Make sure every single item that requires power is connected to "the grid".

In my particular case, the power icon had been green ever since I took over The Castle and built up a fairly substantial settlement. It wasn't until much later that I noticed it had unexpectedly turned red. I spent many hours tracing wiring, checking generators etc. I even built several more big generators in case the power level was too low.

Eventually I found a single Rocket Turret in a remote corner that had mysteriously powered down even though a wire was still connected to it. Deleting the wire and attaching a new wire solved the problem and the power status icon turned green at last.

I don't know why the turret malfunctioned because The Castle had never been attacked. I guess it's just a bug.

Don't forget the turrets stored in the arsenal.
