Question: How to get more wood?
Hello, I like to build and craft a lot, especially make huge settlements and several of them to be big, so I scrapped all the wood I can find in the settlements I have but there is no more scrapable wood, how can I get more? I got 3 scavenging stations with people on them but they don't bring in much wood, hardly at all.

You can buy wood shipments from some merchants, there's a travelling caravan that goes from Sanctuary to Sunset Drivein, Junkyard Rita or something like that. She sells crates of 25 wood for 200-500caps. Then there's the Diamond City junk merchant. Beyond that find new sites and scrap everything there without building a settlement.

have you been scrapping trees while you are in build mode? wood is one of the most common pieces of scrap in the game.

Yeah, I literally have all the settlements unlocked and scrapped all the trees.

Build scrap stations under the resource category. They're the main and only source of renewable scrap. I don't know how much they actually produce, but I usually have a decent amount of scrap everytime I check the crafting station.

I think the trees and such in settlements regrow. I am sure I have scrapped that one tree outside my house in Sanctuary Hills at least three times, and yet there it is.

I have this half-baked theory that when a settler has no job, instead of actively scavenging for items, they'll just wander around town and put back environmental stuff you scrapped already. It would then make sense if instead of putting that stuff back, a scavenger station led them to put the resources it would produce into your workstation instead.

I've been too busy doing other stuff to check this very heavily, let alone run an actual meaningful test.

AH YES! I forgot about how you could make scrap stations where your settlers collect scrap for you. this is the right way to go. make scrap piles in all of your settlements, get them linked together with the charisma perk, and assign a settler to each scrap station.

The baseball guy in diamond city sells 100 wood, supervisor green in gray gardens, and abernathy farm sell 50 otherwise scavenge

I honestly don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about any of my settlers, I just say "heres 175 defense, 80 water 120 power, 27 food, and 20 beds" and just ♥♥♥♥ off, and when I come back, I always think I've forgotten to take my stuff back to the prydwen when I see how much scrap is in my workbench.

I know this is an extremely old topic but, here I am still playing. It seems to me that there aren't many places with a peculiarly large amount of wood like there are with other components like aluminum. But, I tend to go around to all the schools when I need it, what with all the pencils and clipboards you can find there.

In the 2 years since this topic was started, most general or junk merchants now sell 250 wood shipments.
