Well done on the guide, i guess it covers all the basics and more advanced stuff and does so pretty well :)
Well, i come from the Arma 2 Editor so yeah, i'm have a lot of patience with similar "building"(in the end the building system in Fallout 4 is a lighter version of a 3D-Level Editor).
But i think i did put at least 10 hours of planning into the settlement, especially trying to fit the junk fences with their strange collision meshs togehter.
A tip on that though, they really only go paralell, they don't like angles at all and sometimes you still get openings between them, just cover them up with the small shack walls in the wooden walls section, it works quite well and looks ok.

Otherwise the yard would probably be filled with more stuff.
Still it looks very cosy :)

I dont use mods. I use gun drop trick for building big.
Tenement housing in that first pic? Lol, brilliant!
also I'm surprised the game isn't CTD on you, cause the drop and scrap trick for me made the game unstable when I did it at the castle.
I limit myself to using Scrapall + Spring Cleaning which will keep me within the vanilla build limit but remove more stuff
Real creativity and hard work comes from legit builds.
I put a fair amount of work into sanctuary. No cheats and no mods. I tried to make it look like a functioning city. I'm still working on it. I'm never satisfied, I change things every time I play. Most of my other towns are more or less slave towns, but i've started to put more work into them, as well. I like making them look ever more opressive and forboding.
And get the double meat book right at the beginning of your game.
I only go to Concord to get day tripper and x-cell for vendoring.
