Show your Settlements!
Ok so i searched for a while with the steam search function and didn't find a similar thread to where people collect posts of their settlements but yeah...we all know the steam search function is underwhelming at best.
So i thought i will just try it anyway.

Ok then, here you go, i'll start with my currently most advanced settlement Starlight.
All of it was build without using the size mod(even though i like the mod) and i reached the size limit quite a while ago and have 18 people live there right now.

I tried to make it look as believeable as possible, so it fits quite well into the Fallout setting and it adds up to the atmosphere while gaming.
The settlement has 3 Traders(Armor, Weapons, Store) and a Medical Clinic plus enough food to stockpile some of it so i guess they are doing quite well.

This is so ridiculously and disgustingly well done I'm too ashamed to show mine... ;)

I anyone needs help with settlements I created a Steam Guide about many topics related to settlements. Whether you are starting your first settlement or are trying to figure out how to maximize your gain from your settlements this guide can be helpful to you. I would love some feedback!

Well done on the guide, i guess it covers all the basics and more advanced stuff and does so pretty well :)

Yeah! Damn Josh, how'd you get those walls and fences to mesh together so well? Mine need about a foot or more between each section before they "turn green" and I can build them
Well, i come from the Arma 2 Editor so yeah, i'm have a lot of patience with similar "building"(in the end the building system in Fallout 4 is a lighter version of a 3D-Level Editor).
But i think i did put at least 10 hours of planning into the settlement, especially trying to fit the junk fences with their strange collision meshs togehter.
A tip on that though, they really only go paralell, they don't like angles at all and sometimes you still get openings between them, just cover them up with the small shack walls in the wooden walls section, it works quite well and looks ok.

Very nice interior design...but i guess you got into trouble with the size limit?
Otherwise the yard would probably be filled with more stuff.
Still it looks very cosy :)

lol lazerface, took ya long enough to respond to this thread I figure ya be all over it xP

also I'm surprised the game isn't CTD on you, cause the drop and scrap trick for me made the game unstable when I did it at the castle.

I limit myself to using Scrapall + Spring Cleaning which will keep me within the vanilla build limit but remove more stuff

Should've said post your "legit" settlement builds. Now people are going to show off their creative mod and cheats used to build whatever. Rather not really a accomplishment either.

Real creativity and hard work comes from legit builds.

I put a fair amount of work into sanctuary. No cheats and no mods. I tried to make it look like a functioning city. I'm still working on it. I'm never satisfied, I change things every time I play. Most of my other towns are more or less slave towns, but i've started to put more work into them, as well. I like making them look ever more opressive and forboding.

I will pick 1 of 3, Sanc Hills, Sunshine co-op, and Red Rocket, and scrapall the other 2. Then you take all the stuff to your choice and get a great start at a mega settlement.
And get the double meat book right at the beginning of your game.
I only go to Concord to get day tripper and x-cell for vendoring.
