I went from using 1 piece to 3 but didn't notice a difference. Can't say for sure if they stack or not. The duration of cloak and amount I could move before I uncloaked stayed the same regardless of the number of pieces I used. 1 by itself does help when it comes to being spotted, but obviously you can't be moving much to stay cloaked.

I'd recommend shadowed armor with just 1 piece of chameleon armor.

i feel like chameleon is not working like it should be, enemies can still notice you from far out, i feel like chameleon should give you complete visual invisibility as long as you dont move, it would be very usefull and at the same time not OP like stealth suit in fallout 3 was. How many times you had an enemy look for u and u pay they dont come your way, same would be true with this if it granted u full visual invisibilty as long as you dont move, ull be praying enemies dont come close to u and touch u to break the stealth, u cant move to get out of the way after all. I hope they fix this with the patch or if it was intended to work that way in the first place i hope they fix this bug, caz for now this chameleon is usless, it only works good at night and dark places, which u can still be pretty invisible without it in those situations.

i tested around a bit and came to the conclusion it stacks indeed. if you have some npc standing still, as settler occasionally do, you can walk to a point where you re barely out of detection range. if you change armor pieces than there is a change in the hidden brackets - they move further apart with more chameleon pieces... that being said chameleon armor ain´t a stealth boy despite the same visual effect. well maybe it is with 5(?) pieces - i only have two. doing this testing i also realized that lightning makes you easier to detect :)

p.s.: it only works for visual detection. it makes no difference when you sneak up on someone/thing from behind.
