Can I change where Drinking Buddy stands?
I decided to keep him for myself (who doesn't want a walking brewery after all) but I'd rather he not stand in the center of the Castle's courtyard all day. Is there some piece of furniture that will prompt him to stand behind it instead (like the bar counter) or am I stuck with him where he is?

I believe your stuck with the default I had the same issue :(

If you are worried about him being killed if your settlement gets attacked, try building a small shack AROUND him, this way no stray bullets kill your drinking buddy :P

I think Drinking Buddy is unkillable. But no, my worry is that he looks terrible standing around breathing down the Radio Freedom DJ's neck all day.

I ended up putting him in sanctuary so I wouldnt know, but have seen others besides yourself saying he ends up in that spot and refuses to move.

Hopefully either Bethesda themselves, or some savvy modder can find a solution for that.

I chose to keep him didn't finish quest, told him to go to sanctuary, and there's a bar stand in my rec room where everyone seems to hang out randomly and he kinda seems to stick around the bar stand, but not manning it, so I guess I got lucky or something.

For me he moves to whatever location i place my Food and Drink shop.

Someone said you can send him to Goodneighbor and then quickly catch up with him and the dialogue to send him to a settlement will reappear.

Not sure if this is true. Save beforehand.

Edit: Sorry misread the OP. yeah mne just huddles with Curie and Codsworth, which actually suits me fine.

the shack is a problem, when you send him to sanctuary and he stands in the middle of the river most of the time on the very fringe, oif not out of, the settlement boundries

they really should tweak him into being capable of working as a lvl/tier 4 food/drinks merchant

not if u enter a command code that makes npc ppl that cant be killed, killable

The moment I built a bar in my settlement, Drinking Buddy moved next to it and has never moved away from it since. But I maybe just got lucky.

Hahahaha, I did the same I built a food and Drink stand in my sanctuary settlement and buddy moved from the bridge to the BAR!! hahahaha so cool!

1. Place a floor mat on a place where you want to place your Bonzi Drinking Buddy
2. go to console command and click on the mat and remember the code of the floor mat
3. Quicksave just in case
4. go to Drinking Buddy, console command, and click on Buddy
5. type "moveto [floor mat code]" (without quotation and brackets)
6. Enter and your buddy should move
I placed him behind the bar so he looks like a bartender and it worked, so it should work.

EDIT: when I slept he moved... but I can always move him there since mat is always there. It not pain to remember the object code if I click on object in console, close console, go in front of buddy, go to console and code of floormat should show there so just type, moveto+code and click on buddy and enter (object code changes if you sleep so make sure code is not an old code).

no, he is killable, that's why some people has problems when transferring him. Also he nearly died when those brothahoodz attacked my settlement, his arm was sparking and his health never restores even if you leave it for few days. So to fix this problem.

1. Go to console and click on buddy
2. Type "tgm" and enter
3. Now your buddy is immortal

- if you think applying god mode on a character is "cheating" or if his arm was still sparking -

1. Go to console and click on buddy
2. Type "resethealth" and enter
3. Buddy should restore health but he won't be immortal

I'm not sure if this work on dead buddy but its worth a try if your buddy is dead.

I think officially he is supposed to trot in between the caravan post and bar if you've built them.
Mostly for me he just leans against the wall where the caravan post is. Occasionally he's in front of the bar.

Buddy makes ice cold alchoholic beverages so much better. All nuka cola varieites gain a benefit as well. Funny thing, Beer will not become "ice-cold". :albedobeer:
