[BUG] Solomon mutated fern quest

Solomon in Daimond city gives you a repeatable quest to retrieve mutated ferns from the marshes.
However, repeating the quest gets the dialog with Solomon going, but doesn't give the reward OR take the ferns from your inventory. So the repeatable nature of the quest doesn't seem to work at all.

I'm having the exact same problem! I already had three ferns when I spoke to him the first time, so I chose the "I already have some" option. It gave me the reward the first time, but after that he won't take the other ones. The ferns aren't taken from the inventory and there's no reward (even though he says "Here's your reward!")

Yeah, it's pretty weird, and I end up with piles of mutated ferns in my inventory...
It's a real shame, the quest seems fun...
