FIX WINDOW BORDERLESS FPS!
I do not know if this was posted elsewhere. If so, I am sorry.

I run triple 144hz monitors. Running windowed mode is a must for me. As we all know windowed mode = 45ish fps at best. This is a universal issue. Even people with single monitors are having it. BETHESDA! MAKE THIS YOUR MAIN PRIORITY! You made a good game, but its buggy as hell. Fixing Windowed should definitely be at the top of your (hopefully long) to do list.

Sincerely,

:csgob::A::ROCKET_LAUNCHER::A::TheD::A: :nitrogen::mmep_e::LASER_BEAM::ShotGun_Weapon_Item:

If you want better FPS while having the game run fine still (around 80/90fps)
You can use Nvidia inspector.
You'll get a better frame rate

Much agreed, I get a steady 72fps in full screen but a massive 24fps drop to 48fps in windowed borderless.

Unacceptable. Having to download a 3rd party overclocking tool to get the results from a triple A title is simply ascinine. I will wait patiently for Bethesda to fix it. WHICH THEY HAD BETTER FIX IT LEAST THEY DEAL WITH DEEZ GUNS! :ToughEnough::dealwithit::strong:

OP,

Running games in Windowed mode comes with an inherent frame rate drop as your system now has to render your background. In games that are not Resource intense you may not notice it, but since Fallout in its nature will max out your system you will feel it more in windowed mode.

Also if you are feeding those 3 monitors with a resolution like 7680x1440 then you will not have the power to run it at a high frame rate even with the worlds best hardware... especially if you are not able to take good advantage of SLI'ed cards if you have them.

Wrong. I can unlock the FPS and pull an almost constant 300fps (minus drops in cities) all the time on my 980ti. And this game nowhere near maxes out my system. It is an issue with optimization. And Bethesda needs to fix it. As simple as that.

If you are running only a 980ti and try to play the game on ULtra at a super High resolution such as 7680x1440 it will max out that card and you can expect Drops.

You have not stated your settings or resolution you are playing at...So I do not know if you are using a Extreme resolution or what game settings you are using. Until you do share the settings you are playing at, I will assume you are playing at settings that exceed your hardwares ability to play at the Frame Rate you want.

If you share your settings and resolution and they are all lower, then I will take back what I say.

Hard to say you are right if you don't share such details.

Oh I know, Bugthesda are a shambles, and tbh, people who pre ordered the game should get the first DLC free or something because this is a triple A game but it was released like an indie or EA game.

I wont be buying the game until these issues are resolved, I do not want to pay for a something that is going to inhibit my enjoyment of the game!!!

You can see my rig by clicking "My Rig" on my profile. But it is safe to say I play this game everything max. The highest resolution you can set the game at is 1920x1080 without messing with .ini files. 3 1080p monitors = 5760x1080. My surround is showing 5760x1080 @ 144hz.

If you are playing at max settings like you said, then your card it defiantly would be hitting 100% usage. The shadows and god rays alone would overload your card in cities. Bring them down to Medium.

Also if you are maxed, and you have the draw distances and fad in's maxed, that will overload that 980.

Wierd I cant play on fullscreen windowed because the framerate goes up to like 200 and ruins the physics, and lockpicking screens are unplayable at 500 fps since the gameplay of lockpicking is tied to framerate... Bethesda pls. This isnt 1998 we dont need FPS tied Physics, or gameplay speed. :maaad:

Im playing this game at a solid 100 fps with Godrays off, Depth of Field off, Bloom off, and AA Off at 1080p shadows on medium, but draw distances maxed, on a gtx 760 and i7 4970k. Cities do drop FPS. Reguardless, im getting More FPS then he is, and he has a better rig then me. Theres a problem.

This issue is solely on bethesda FPS Locking and bad optimization due to physics and certain areas of gameplay being tied to the FPS.

Wrong. I have the game maxed on my 980ti and the GPU is nowhere near maxed. I think 70ish percent of the gpu is used most of the time. It spikes. Fallout 4 is NOT pushing a high end GPU. This issue is simply the window mode is frakked. Put yours on windowed and look at your fps. You will see what I am talking about.

You unlocked the FPS, bruh. Unlocking the FPS breaks the game due to the fact that the FPS determines the game speed. It's shoddy development. Bethesda should have known better.

Actually I did unlock the FPS, realized how ♥♥♥♥ it was playing, changed the ini back to where the FPS Should be locked again, and continued doing that in fullscreen windowed. Its unfortunite.

People have been reporting different "FPS locks" and FPS issues for everyone, Mine is my FPS in boarderless window is just unlocked, Without me doing anything to unlock it. Some people are complaining about 30 fps locks, some 60 fps locks, some 45fps locks, Etc.

http://www.gamepur.com/guide/21111-fallout-4-pc-error-how-unlock-fps-add-add-219-support-change-fov-mouse.html

These guys in the first section of unlocking FPS report that boarderless windowed may just unlock FPS with no Ini edits. My boarderless windowed does that. It averages a lower FPS then Fullscreen when fullscreen was unlocked FPS, but its unlocked FPS wether or not i do the FPS unlock ini edits.
