Remove Perk
I made some bad choices in perks early game and I'd like to rearrange a few. But the command, player.removeperk xxxxxxxx isn't working. Is there something else that needs to be done that I'm maybe missing?

....yes. That's what the xxx was for. A place holder for the perk ID.

you need to delevel and level perks level by level.

So let's say you want to remove level 2 of a perk, start with remove perk <level2> then <level 1>

I figured that. But the one I'm currently trying to remove only has the one level. And when I put the command in it dumps a whole lot of text in the console, but nothing seems to happen

Do they all not work, maybe the perk you are trying to mod has the wrong ID listed?

I believe you can find the ID by using EG help 'perk name' or something, I read it earlier today but can't find it now :(

I haven't tried any other ones yet. I'll give it a shot. And I think I remeber reading the same thing. I'll see if I can find it again.

try fast travelling and then retry the removeperk command.

If it's still doesn't work, reopen the game and try it again.

Some command stops working and it's weird. Happens with tcl and the command won't work, restarting the game will make the command work again.

Well this is kind of a pain in the ass. I came across something that said it doesn't seem like you can remove level 1 perks, so I guess I'm kinda stuck with a couple ♥♥♥♥♥♥ perks early game. I tried removing and adding a level 2 perk and it worked fine. Also, I found the command to lookup ids.

help "perk name" 4

no, you're doing something wrong. I manage to remove level 1 perks before

Well I'm not doing anything different when I try to remove the level 1 perk and when I successfully removed and added a level 2 perk. I even used the help command to double check I had the right ID in the console.

I ran into an identical issue trying to remove two points of the Blacksmith perk, and wanted to leave my solution here for posterity's sake.

Attempting to remove the perks normally, i.e. remove Rank 2 followed by Rank 1 did nothing. I attempted fast travel, restarting the game, etc. What finally worked was trying to remove the maximum rank, even though I didn't have it selected. Doing so removed both ranks that I did possess. I can't speak to perks with a single rank, but I'm relieved to have this finally taken of.

God I love you.
