'Paladin Danse is carrying too much' WTF

I took off his power armor to repair it... tried to give it back to him to equipt and he can't take it all due to weight... He is carrying NOTHING ELSE.

Strong logic Fallout.

Danse's personal character armor never needs repairing - if you put him in another suit thats your micromangement nightmare to bear ;)

You know you can tell him to step into power armor right?

Repair power armor and put it on it's frame. Then command your follower to step into the power armor.

But why would you need to repair it? Did you give him another power armor? Also can i upgrade his existing power armor and counts as his default power armor that doesn't need repairs?

Are you guys blind? The screenshot shows it isn't his power armor, I don't know where the T-60 suit of his is, no idea why he's in the rusty crap T-45...

I guess you shouldnt have given him an inferior suit but seriously t45 is an awfull suit to wear it breaks from practically anything once your past first few levels . Power Armour only gets really tough starting with T - 60 unless you heavily upgrade T-51 then its good too on hard at least.

I have this issue I gave him a few T-51 because i couldnt carry then, and now when i take them off his original suit is gone+ his carry weight is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

Dude, learn to read, I didn't give him anything! He just one day had this terrible armor and messed up carry limit.

I've run into this too. There is a solution. Every time you give Danse different power armor and make him equip it, he keeps his original armor in his "hidden" inventory.

You can access it by opening the console, clicking on Danse, typing in "showinventory" (without quotes). The T-60 (or whatever his base power armor is) should be there. When you find it, and want to remove it type in "removeitem xxx" (without quotes, with xxx replaced with armor ID), for every piece of T-60 you wish to remove. It should be fine now.

I'd still recommend modifying his carry limit value with "modav carryweight". This guy should be able to carry more than 150 :/

"Take all" from him then put it back one by one with the chest armor first, make sure to equip it. That worked for me.

Don't change companions weapons either as their default one has limitless ammo.

Which is exactly what I did before I knew this too late to restart now though.

I HAVE A ANSWER.
and save before and after doing this. dont f** up your game.

he ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up his very expensive x-01 armor gave him. and then part of the story makes him get out of his armor. and then when i came back for a companion. it was there. but it wasnt int his trade invintory. and i couldnt give him more. so what you need to do to fix this--- kinda sucks your gonna loose any armor he had on him so yes i had to get mor x01... just do the inv command and then the remove command and remove ALL of his crap. he might disapeer and re appear thats just his BOS outfit thing and laser riffle respawning but remove them once. get rid of his armor you gave him (my X-01) and remove his base t60 or something armor. then you can trade at your hearts content! now i have him in full mrk VI power armor again. kinda pissed off that this happens ---
again the cause is when you give him armor and then its taken away or a certain story section happens then he trys to put it back on i geuss. and either it doesnt work. or his old t60 armor doesnt re equuip and gain its waitless stats. or something.
so yeah this should help. and if you take away his armor you gave him he wont have t60 anymore i dont thing.....
