Alright. So basically, the way happiness works, is that each settler, when all of their basic needs (food, water, beds, defense) are taken care of, they are 80% happy. They need an additional 20 happiness points to reach 100%. Some shops give happiness points. Restaurants give 40 happiness points, so each settler running one takes care of his own happiness, as well as the happiness of one other settler. The Surgery Centers (tier 3 clinics) give 30 points, tier 3 general trader gives 15, and the tier 2 and tier 3 clothing shop both give 10. Weapon and armor shops don't affect happiness at all. You can also buy a dog from Gene. Each junkyard dog bought from him will give you 20 happiness points.

Hi, allow me to add you to my FL in order to ask you some questions 'bout that :P

Just have a settlement with 2 people. Put one on food, put the other running a tier 3 bar (restaurant). Make sure you have 3 beds (one for you, so you don't get a happiness penalty). The size meter has to be in the yellow, so you'll want to do a lot of building/decorating. No need to cheat, although I can understand the frustration. I can explain in more detail if you're interested.

okay but the problem im having now is im getting bored of the game and dont kno how to make it fun
Aries the Grinning Jan 27, 2016 @ 11:24am
I think you have a very crooked idea of what would make stuff fun :D
You do know there's a console command that can complete all quests at once for you? I mean if you're looking for even more fun, that would absolutely be the thing for you.
Don't forget the cheat to put every locations on the map either, it might spoil your fun if you'd have to look for them yourself, hehe.

but i mean with out cheats ive finished the game and started again but just acnt get in to it and payed 60£ cos i added season pass -_-

While yes you should probably do this legit, you absolutely can console select the workbench then use the command above, but instead of 100 do 99, have the settlements happiness going up with it all set and stuff, this just skips the ages of waiting around for it to tick over.

If you are going to necro a topic from three years ago can you at least give the right information?

Use a console command to mod target happiness to 100 (could even try 150)
Use another console command to set current happiness to 99
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I got the achievement by turning it to 150 and letting it fall to 100, just make sure you have a ton of settlers. Turning it to 100 doesn't do anything bc it has to get there "naturally".
