Connecting power?
So how do I connect generator to transmitter? I'm supposed to lay a wire but there isn't one listed under connectors. Do I have to build pylons?

In Workshop mode: Highlight the generator, press space, then highlight the transmitter, press space.

walk up to genny and press space bar to attach a wire.. walk to item you want to attach it to and press space bar again.. must have enough copper available to span the distance.

I showed wiring in the last minute or so of this video walkthrough if you want a demonstration : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqgCVUhzY0U

You can connect things to a power supply that are close enough. If it's too far away you have to use pylons. To connect a wire make sure you don't have anything selected to build, look at the item you want to attach a wire to, and on the actions list at the bottom of your window you should see an option to "attach wire". On a controller it's the Y button when you are looking at something in the workshop menu. Once you choose attach wire you should see your character holding a live wire. Walk it over to what you want to connect it too and the object, wire and what you want to attach it to should highlight in white. Then click Y again and it should attach.

Tips to know : Two transmiters can transmit power without behind linked by cable at the strict condition :
That the first transmiter is already linked to another one or a generator.
And the second transmiter is withint the first transmiter sphere of influence (press Space when targeting the first, if the second highlight in white, it is in range.)

I try to illustrate it for you :

G for Generator
T for transmiter
- for cable
x for no cable (empty air, nothing between)
L for a lightbulb

G - T x T - L

This work, it mean the generator is linked to the first transmiter with a cable, but the second transmiter is not linked at all with the first, but, energy still transmitted. It was made to allow player to transmit power through doors. In a word put a transmiter top of the door, and another behind the door, the two will transmit energy, no cable needed.

many thanks for the advice, the generator is not to far from the transmitter so hopefully can just lay wire.
