Different difficulties, different rewards?
I had to lower the difficulty to easy down from regular as i was dying constantly, the dragon flys, alpha dogs, raiders all seemed to be too powerful for me. Then i finally lowered the difficulty once i had to kill a legendary glowing ghoul (think thats what its called). Got it with a bottlecap bomb in the end.

Im starting to think its partly because i didnt pay much attention to my armour, so i have upgraded everything i have to what im capable of.

Im level 10 and new to fallout but i just feel like it should not be this hard.

Will i get less rewards when playing on easy? like less exp per kill etc? Miss chances for better gear?

Thanks for any help

I think the xp rates will remain the same, higher difficulties will just cause much more legendary creatures to spawn, and thus give you more legendary gear.

yes, they have stated that the higher the difficulty the higher the chance to run into legendary baddies thus more legendary loot. My Girlfreind plays on easy and I play on hard and i think the rest of the stuff comes down to keeping your gear up to date and making sure you focus on atleast one combat skill so you can actualy kill stuff. EXP is affected by int, so if you want more of that, raise your int too.

When you say focus on one combat skill, do you just mean practice or make your player stronger in a certain skill. If so, what skills are there? do you mean like strength, perception etc?

I think he means some of the perks under certain skills, like you can raise the damage done by semi-auto weapons by a set amount. If you keep investing into that it'll help you kill enemies faster

I personally believe that dying is just part of this game at times. When enemies rush you and some grenade spam is just pure unavoidable. Bethesda should tone the difficulty down a notch in this game in my opinion.

I agree with this, especially the grenades. I hate when I encountered two supermutants early on and they just throw over 4 molotovs at me

Yeah i feel like i was dying way too often with nothing to do to stop it.
I started using VATS which has helped but last time i played i walked into a new town and was instantly shot by a mini-nuke.

The Shotty and Spiked armor(for me) is dealing with Raiders/Flys/Alpha dog very well up close ofc, and use a marksman pipe rifle(got it from one of the super mutants near Diamond City) with a scope for long range encounters, no mods only a LRS for the rifle.

I play on Normal, am level20 now and only use legendary stuff now (weapons and armor). There really is no lack of legendary encounters at even normal.

i play survival from the start, and i must say..... its to easy for me.
i thought its like harcore mode in New Vegas but, only the damage and the life of the enemys are stronger.
i played every Fallout before on highest difficulty, that i have a high advantage in this Fallout, how to beat the diffrent enemys in the wasteland.

some tips that can help:

1 .dont play the hero, that means its not a shame to fall back and reasupply.

2. use ur VATS to locate enemys first, then u can prepare for an ambush.

3. against grenade spamming u must keep distance and break line of sight, stay in sneak and take him out from distance.
in rooms place u so, that are some object between u and the enemy.
and the AI are very good, when in cover at a door and shooting, its 99 % someone throw a grenade ore molotov. that keep in mind. when "danger" apears while sneaking the know where u are. and then throw also grenades or rush u down with melees...

and for ur question:
in survival mode more legendary enemies apears so more legendary loot. but they a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way harder to kill, two hits from them are most ur death.

Not sure what kind of build your looking to do, but just focus on one combat perk. I.E in my second playthrough I have the utility perks (Lockpick/Hacking/Scavenger/Gun Nut) and pistols upgraded, I 1-3 shot everything w/vats in a crit/agi/percep build. Just gotta get one thing to put you on even footing.
