Virgil not dying

It began with nick valentine, i invited him to go with me and search for virgil. He suddenly became my enemy and attacked me. So i left him. And went to get the dog and go on my search for virgil. Now i found him and i am trying to kill him. But he won´t die. It looks like im stuck in a loop or something. His health is like totally down, and he is on the ground taking his breath and the marker becomes green. I can't talk to him. Once he catches his breath he will stand up again and the marker goes red and he is shooting me again.

Can somebody tell me what im doing wrong? Has somebody experiencing the same thing?

you are not supposed to kill virgil.

the turrets in his cave does not attack you. so im assuming you went in guns blazin and therefor became his enemy

Where in the world did you get the impression you were supposed to run in an shoot Virgil?

Yesss i reloaded my save and it worked, thanks!

@ sathas, i was still in kill rage after the big monster. Wasnt thinking at all.

I did it to sadly. When the brother hood of steel told me to go there it never said talk it just said go there so I assumed since he was insitute he should die learned that hitting his robots made him mad reloaded after seeing he was impossible to kill and then talked to instead

Did you take a bunch of Psycho to kill the Deathclaw? Chems are never/always the answer.

Actually i did, once. But took to many in the past so got addicted.

managed to kill 2 of the deathclaws with some sniper rifle i found. dogmeat kept em distracted long enough :). also yeah i went in guns blazing xD. oops

If anyone else runs into this issue, I was able to fix by shooting him into a green state... then before he recovers I ran a little distance and activated sneak. When he walked up to me, as long as I didn't move at all, he looked at me and started talking like normal and let me move along with the quest,

After that annoying trip across the glowing sea to get to Virgil, I was angry at Virgil already! I know I was the one going into his turf, but I went pass the Death law and directly into the cave killing everyone in sight except Virgil who drained all my ammo and aid. I did finish Fo4 multiple times, but after a while I forget some parts of the story. Good game anyway. Gonna load the last save before the cave and find old Shawn, kill him too and end up building stuff in my settlements, get bored, uninstall the game and play it again in a couple of years.
