50% on vats when standing still isn't that great with melee weapons. Unless your melee only and have to get up close, there are way better perks you can get unless your melee only
"im all agility luck" im using all the crit perks and blitz in agility. i am all melee.
Perk is still garbage compared to other perks you can get, unless of course you only use melee.
If your melee than a lot of melee perks are in strength?
only melee strength perks you need are blacksmith, big leagues and armorer. which only require 4 strength. my starting strength was low because i considered stuff like grim reaper sprint and better criticals in luck to be more important than the extra strength damage. also with so much AP with 9 agility, using blitz, and being in vats for the majority of combat luck seemed like a better option than strength. especially when the only melee perk that i would benefit from in strength (past 4 strength) would be rooted. in luck almost all the top tier perks are worth it for a melee vats character.
Is this your first playthrough? In fallout games I always do a general build and mostly all types of weapons that have different ammo. I couldn't imagine doing melee only because I havnt experienced all the cool guns in fallout 4.
no my "first" playthrough lasted about 3 hours when i realized i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and charisma was actually amazing compared to fnv and fo3 where you could just max speech or barter. also i realized for a sneak ranged character luck was ♥♥♥♥ because theres no random crits anymore and perception was ass besides lockpicking because you have better accuracy holding your breath AND better range using a scoped weapon yourself than VATS. so my first character that i had planned on making a crit sneak character went down the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ real quick. so i restarted and put the points where they should be. in stuff like charisma for amazing buy and sell prices, lone wanderer, local leader etc. also i hadnt realized at the time how OP broken sauce bobbleheads were so i saved points by putting in 1 less than i needed in stats and just went to pick up the bobblehead. IE: bloody mess is 3 luck so i put 2 luck in at the start and just got the bobblehead eventually.
TLDR: i didnt know ♥♥♥♥ first playthrough so i refined my build after 3 hours and played that character to lvl 63 and now im doing melee.
