Quest Bug Institutionalized (spoiler)

Hey
I´m now in the Institute but I´m somehow stuck. The voice tells me to enter the elevator I follow him and the elevator goes down. After that I go out the of the Elevator and follow the way to the next elevator I pushed the button the Elevator goes up into a room where Shawn is but nothing happens cant open any door and I cant go back. somehow I´m in the room with Shawn but nothing happens.
Need some Help pls. I loaded a old Savegame Outside the Institute but still the same after I played it again.

In the same boat as you. From the walkthroughs, it seems like a dialogue with a 3rd character is supposed to happen, but nothing triggers that.

u have to talk to shawn. maybe u have to load an older savegame but it was workin for me after u talked to shawn father enters the room.

Ah, thank you -- I think I assumed I couldn't talk through the glass, so was looking around for some way to open the access chamber.

I talked to shaun, but the dialogue wont start. Im just standing there spamming E going "Shaun? Shaun? Shaun?" and nothing happens. Tried reloading save.

Same thing happening to me. Is there a fix?

I tried twice by using an old save, but the game would not progress unless i killed Shaun.

Kinda spoilt it for me given how far into the game i was

Alright Listen. Use the Network Scanner first on any termial. Then go around and talk to the heads of divitions. (if you wish to stay with the insititut like i do and got help from the BOS then talking to Dr Li. Pick the option that does not involde getting her back. After that you should be able to get on going.

I found a fix for a bug in the quest Institutionalized, when the father does not come to the conversation and the child Shaun does not want to talk! I tried all the tips from the Internet, disabled the doors, setstage cheats to the quest, sat, slept, walked naked, jumped on one leg around me, but nothing helped. I did the following:

1 Preserved next to Sean

2 Disabled all mods.

3 Loaded the game: Shaun spoke up immediately. Father deigned to leave! I saved the new game.

4 Closed the game. He turned on all the mods again.

5 Loaded previous save (where mods are enabled)

6 Voila, Shaun has become more accommodating and mods work as before.
