Brotherhood of steel 1st quest problem already

[Can a house be evil?]

I was given a quest to find some artifacts-easy. However the map markers are staying on the scribe Halen and Knight rys. When I approach they keep telling me to go do the quest but the markers are on their bodies. Can anyone help please? This game is getting very frustrating

Sorry I can't help but honestly It's just a retrieve this and kill that mission. Its not important for the rest of the brotherhood missions or quest line.

Holo tapes? All I want is to start the quest. There are no map markers outside the police station-they stay on Rys and the girl scribe.

Do I need to gear up first with power armor before I can start?

No i did not, Im only a couple of brotherhood quests a head of you.
Do you not have older saves to try with?

I do have older saves. Ill try that. Do you think this is just a bug?

Probably figured it out by now, but for anybody else trying to figure this our. You have to go back into your quests and set the quest onto quartermastery. It doesn't do it for you automatically
