Too hard even on easy!

I played through F3 and New Vegas, still F4 is too hard for me. I started on normal, then I had to lower the difficulty, because every bug killed me in 3 hits. The game still is pretty hard on easy with rad scorpion taking like 2 magazines to kill. Maybe I took a mission which is too hard for my level. Isn't there a marker somewhere which tells me I shouldn't pick up a certain quest yet etc?

And leave me alone with answers like 'git gud' etc. I don't want to play with god mode or very easy, there must be a way to pick quests according to my level.

radroaches and bloatflies cant possibly kill you in 3 hits right? I play on v hard and those lowly insects never give me any problems.

Bigger foes do require a bit of planning sometimes, sniping, planting mines, use your companion to bait/tank etc. It so much more fun than roflstomp in fo3 and nv

the further away you go from santurary the more difficult of enemys you encounter. you just need better weapons, learn to mod them out also to make them better.

Get the perk that shows enemy defenses, it also shows the level. If all your enemies are far higher than you, you know what the problem is. Are you somewhere south of Diamond City? The game says it gets harder the farther you get into the south, so don't get there until you have a high level, there is enough to do in the north.
And of course not just the level counts, have 1-2 weapons and a full set of armor that has the best mods possible for your level.

level up more wisely read about the perks and don´t level up the same perk or special stat every time

i had the same issue. those ghouls were unkillable for me in the first place. now i can kill them each with 2 shots without changing my clip 8)
(.38 caliber with 40 shots in a clip. also makes 40 damage)

Ive played on Hard and its easy as hell. Just hoard everything and you get unllimited cash and unlimited ammo since you can buy alot from vendors.

Honestly Im amazed that OP made it through Fallout 3 and New Vegas but considers Fallout 4 difficult. Fallout 4 is a cakewalk compared to Fallout 3/New Vegas.

First time I played Fallout 3, I left the vault and instantly got killed by a group of Talon Company mercs. Instantly turned me off from the game for awhile. Fallout 4 pretty much holds your hand. Are you using VATS and what are your special stats?

unless you running into the middle of large groups of enemies I dont see how this game could be hard

I agree with OP this game is hard. Playing on VH and getting ready to restart at lower setting.
