Power Armour and hostile friendlies
So, there's been two occasions now (one is nothing, but two is a pattern) where friendlies have gone hostile when I've gotten close to them wearing power armour: first time was the guards at Parsons Insane, second time was Covenant. If I approach them wearing just my regular armour, there's no problems at all - if I approach them wearing power armour, they turn hostile. My power armour HAVE the Tesla Coil upgrade, so it deals electrical damage to enemies that get up close... But still, I'm at a loss as to why Covenant (only the people inside, not the gatekeeper dude) or the guards at Parsons would turn hostile just because I wear power armour. Anyone have a clue?

Probably a bug with the tesla upgrade. I had it a few times too from my companion whose PA has the tesla upgrade

Are you sure it's because of Tesla Coil? You could try to replace that part and try without it, maybe they don't like power armors in general.

Parson's Insane Asylum is supposed to have hostile Gunners. Btw head due north of that asylum and climb to the top of the tower and ring the bell and sit back and watch as the group of raiders gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up by two deathclasw and glowing radscorpion.

It isn't Gunners at Parson's though, it's Cabot's Mercs.

And yeah, might be a bug with the tesla upgrade, but... it'd be weird. While I could understand Covenant being a bit anti-PA, I can't really see Cabot's Mercs being such. :P

They are Gunner's before you start that mission. But regardless I don't know why its acting that way. If you have power armor I still suggest they go north and get some loot.

I used a hunting rifle and about 100 rounds od .308 while I sat at the top of the tower.

the reason this is happening is due to your upgrade, Tesla Coil upgrade to be exact.

If you give the Npc's the slightest graze or damage they will turn hostile rather fast if you are wearing power armor. But if you are not, then they won't turn hostile from a simple graze. I think this is a over sight on the developers part because on multple occasions I had friendly Npcs attack me because I jumped down something while wearing power armor and a npc just happened to be close enough to feel the shockwave from the fall which will then make them turn hostile asap. This glitch is so annoying that I stopped wearing power armor due to how high the rate of npc's turning hostile towards you becomes while wearing the power armor is.

wow yeah im specialised in long range fighting and sneak attack as well but 100 rounds phew expensive ! i took out a supermutant fortress from long distance but claws dont stand still and you cant be on ground level at least not without entering a house or the like.

I found a legendary submachine gun after that that had the 15 points of explosion damage mod and armor pircing which allowed me to gun down an Alpha Deathclaw in about 10 seconds. They are only a threat to me when they are VERY Close.

Yeah, but then why does it only affect a few people? I mean I can run up and stick my hand in the pants of any Diamond City or Minuteman Settlement resident and they don't give a fig. But these guys at Covenant and Parsons go bananas right away. IF the Tesla upgrade is wonky, it's very very irregularly wonky, and that confuses me. :P

It was a random legendary from some legendary enemy. I think it was a Legendary goul reaver at the national guard depot. But its randomized so idk. Its poissble you may get it on a different weapon.

You may not run into the same things. Its level dependant and random.
