Poison Damage is GROSS
So far I've found one special item to mitigate some of its effects. And it still isn't enough. A single hit from most things that deal poison damage is enough to sink me-- stimpaks can't hope to recover that life fast enough.

Yes, it's survival. But one hit when I'm wearing power armor? That's not near equatable any other creature.

Is there a way to cure poison or something?

Edit:
A highly expensive mixture you could make in a chem station would be a nice addition.

Honestly only diff between very hard and survival as far as I know is just how fast your hp heals. The enemys are the same on either. I started on survival, but then I got sick and tired of waiting 2+ mins irl to heal before I could move on to the next pack of enemys. SO i went down to very hard that has the standart heal rate just to save time. In alot of cases even on vhard the faster heal rate won't help you, with some poison attacks its just fast enough to prevent you from dying while using healing items after being poisoned, but anything else hits you and your dead. Most of the times I died on vh I died so fast that it wouldn't matter what the heal speed of items are lol. Just go to vh, its the same thing just with the standart heal over time rates.

Yup, that and the fire damage from assaultrons are the only things which gives me any trouble on Survival difficulty. I remember getting a 5% poison resistance from a comic, but other than that it looks like we just have to mitigate the damage with healing items.

I have a 25% poison resist item on. The damage isn't mitigated with healing items. It doesn't seem to affect it at all, actually. I just watch my life drain away from 100 to 0 without being able to do anything.

You do have the medic perk, or did you skip it? ;)

IIRC,at higher difficulties, healing items don't provide their healing in one burst.Instead it is spread out into tiny amounts over a very long period, almost like a trickle. This means that any DOT damage(bleed or poison) occurs at a far higher rate within a shorter time compared to your healing item rate.

That because heal rate is so slow that the poisons dot is way faster than how fast you heal. on VH and below the heal rate is about equil to the poisons dot speed, but if anything else hits you while that poison dot is in effect GG lol.

Which is why you need the medic perk. I play on survival and manage. Tip, if health is getting dangerously low, pop a buffout for an insta extra hp buffer. If you are poisoned you really cannot just stand around waiting to get hit again with more, that is just dumb play.

Yes I'm aware of all of that.

#Did_You_Download_Graphics _Drivers?

I have more to fear from stingers than I do from Deathclaws. Deathclaw easy. Stingers u ded.

Learn to use chems. Alot.
Yup i am talking about Survival difficulty

P/S : I find jet is so far the most useful chems. I use it everytime countering Legendaries. I remembered using nearly 30 jets at `Take back the Castle` quest.

If your a sneaker you wouldnt be having this problem. Chump.
PhrostDragon Nov 21, 2015 @ 6:36am
ROFL WHAT, 30 jet? What the hell kind of build are you running? I used I think 2-3 to fight off a legendary deathclaw at level 20, I think I only used 1 to clear the castle, most legendaries die in the middle of large battles without me even realizing it was there until I loot a legendary item.

...poison's still an SOB, though. It took several hits from the dartwing stingwing variant to kill me quick and painlessly. Thankfully, they're also pretty fragile and easy to kill if you pick them off before they can get to you.

Or you can, y'know, go around them. Gotta remember that you're not necessarily being forced to fight every single thing you happen to spot in the wasteland. It's still singleplayer, no one judges you for avoiding a likely lethal encounter.

Oh and BTW I only use REFINED drugs, since I have so0oo much jet, I combine it all the time with Buffout and Pyscho. And of course Medix, and yet I STILL RARELY USE THEM! Chump!
Tyrant Nov 21, 2015 @ 6:41am
agreed posion shouldnt affect PA its the Cazador issue all over again
WarPigs Nov 21, 2015 @ 6:42am
But on a serious level, 30 fcking jet mang really!? If you want to use drugs that much, just get the party boy perk. Also, Refresh-Bev is a must. Cures addiction instantly AND heals your radiation.

Well The Mirelurk Queen always 1-hit me when i was doing that quest at the Castle. The trick in that fight was hit-and-run, but with the strainful fps-drop problem, it is too hard to do. Unless i use jet to slow things down.

I highly doubt you could only sit back and let your companion fight a Legendary, as i've found out so far any Legendary (except small ones) would easily smashed my companion even while wearing Power Armor.
