Treasure of Jamaica Plain (spoilers)
Talk about a bait and switch. When I first showed up, Piper made a comment about how the "Legendary Treasures of Jamaica Plain" were among the most coveted items in the wasteland. I didn't think much of it until I picked up a holotape from a dead guy that started the quest. As I got more tapes, it turns out they were planning the heist of the century. I ventured forth, my hopes only increasing as I lockpicked a Master door. And at the end of the tunnel, what do I find? A giant time capsule, filled with the mundane items that the residents Jamaica Plains treasured. Well played Bethesda. Well played.

They certainly are treasures, just from a different perspective!

For me at least, in one of the cases there was a legendary 2076 world series baseball bat with the ability to have a "small chance to send targets flying." 38 damage, slow, 3 weight

well, you do get a crazy amount of good mats if you decide to disarm all those security beams. That alone was worth while imo. Plus, you can build a new place right next to it in town. but then again from looking at how the majority of people play this game, im guessing you would just console command everything you want as far as mats go anyways.

Reminds of that one quest in Fallout 2 where that ghoul talks about masses and masses of riches and it turns out to be a bag of like 5000 bottle caps. When the currency had long been switched to NCR dollars.

I consider unique items to be more valuable than caps, but then again I'm the guy controlling the poor guy who has gone 180 days without drinking or eating so then again, I don't know.

I forgot about that place by the way. Found a flier for it, got the map marker, still unvisited. I should visit.

I found the area because I was told by Preston it needed to be liberated.

Finding it though, that's not the hard part.

It's letting go.

First I thought the mayor was a jerk who tried too hard to store his gold during the war.

Later, I think I slightly fell in love with her. At least she tried to do something for the future generations, despite the raging Great War.

I greatly enjoyed this little side-quest and story. This is what is amazing about Fallout series, the amazing little stories spread around the world. I admit there was a moment when I thought there will be "true" riches in form of weapons, materials and money but I quickly came to conclusion this would be a prank. The twist at the end was cool!
