Also, there's a large difference between a small part of the world being nuked and the entire damn thing being nuked to the point of being nearly unlivable
I think the nukes they had by 2077 (when the bombs fell) were many times more destructive than the Atom Bomb

I think by the time we bombed Japan, the Allies had essentially won considering Japan was the only one left so I don't think it would've been that drastic a change
