Can you adjust the gamma - Game is too dark for me!
Most games have a gamma slider. I just find I am squinting too much looking at the computer screen.
I use the torch a lot when I Can, but the range of the torch is limited. Would be easier for me to increase the gamma correction.

Anyone know how to do it?

Max. gamma is 1.0,
Default is 0.7067

if you have an nvidia card go to nvidia control panel and you can adjust it there if you need to

lol, yes I have found a few posts asking for a gamma slider! You can't adjust it in-game. You could adjust your monitor or computer (through Nvidia for example).
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This has no actual effect, you can try it with the console "sg xxx" or as you said "SetGamma xxx" and you'll see zero difference on screen.

And by xxx I mean a float number (ie. one with decimals)

I tried console commands, didn't make a difference and I can't find the fgamma on any of the ini files, I searched fallout prefs and the default to no avail

If it's not present in Fallout4Prefs.ini, you'll have to add it under the [Display] heading.
Note also that gamma[en.wikipedia.org] is an inverse exponential function that affects the lightness of mids without much (if any) effect on darks and lights, so the value of mids is normal at 1 and approaches fully white as gamma approaches 0 and approaches fully black as gamma approaches infinity.
