Tips for carrying less weight???
I have 50 lbs of weapons & 50 lbs of armor with a total weight of 290 lbs, I have a limit of 340 lbs.
the Misc & Ammo items weigh nothing, Mods & Junk is empty.
So I assume I'm getting 190 lbs from the Aid tab.
I have cleared out all crap healing items, I have up 20 of each fruit for settlement platings etc

Is this common or do I need to thin out aid items even more?
What aid items do you carry?

Get to the gym bub.

You just need to make more trips to your base and store your junk. Do you really need to carry that many aid items? There's no reason to carry around 20 of each fruit, which is only 2 lbs by the way...What's in your junk tab? How many waters?

pocketed armor adds 5 ( i think ) to your weight limit. there is a food that increases your weight limit as well, for a short time. There is a perk that increases your weight limit. Then there is... do not carry as many objects and you have more weight.

Your companion can carry a decent amount of loot as well...

Not noticed by many but Stealthboys are rather heavy items actually. I only bring one if it's needed during some special mission.
Seriously though I think you're doing everything you can at this point. Maybe start adding aquired skill points to strength if you haven't already. If you are wearing regular armor over your clothes you can mod the a the armor bench to make pockets which add to the max weight value.
Let companion carry some stuff for ya if needed. Or consider getting Lone Wanderer and Pack Mule perk.

Get a nice outfit from a comic book store.

Army fatigues +1 str.

Lay all your "Junk" at a settlement. (In the workstations, makes it easier to craft too, make it your main hub).

Try not to use too many weapons at once, really not much point.

Hmm... Pocketed armour is always handy if you really really need it.

But ofc, you're doing that.

Don't carry ♥♥♥♥ chems, combine them instead! - Chem stations.

I am yet to be struggling with items after all my play time. I have like 250 carryweight with my pocketed armour etc lel.

You can sort by weight. That is how I manage stuff.

I love that the pocketed mod adds .2 weight to the item, effectively being a pointless small hindrance when compared to the 4.8 extra weight.

I think the pocketed armor for arms and legs adds 5 lbs to carry weight. The pocketed chest armor adds 10 lbs (at least my pocketed leather armor does)

Yeah it's pretty bizarre.

Use companion backpacks.
Wear Power Armour.
Increase strength and get the pack mule perk.
Mod in more pockets onto your armour (The first version gives you 5 carry weight, 10 for the better one, for a total of 50 for a complete set of armour)

Dont bring 20 of each aids item, put the plants in the workshop, you can still plant them. (after making a supply line ofc)

I'm carrying no junk atm. I have 9 str & 2 points in strong back

weapons wise I have
10mm pistol
laser institute rifle
.45 rifle
5.56 rifle

I carry them all because I keep switching them out depending on ammo & enemies.

Aid I can prolly ditch alot of, but relying on just stimpacks is expensive & if I get in a tough fight I can go through 3-4 healthbars
I'll drop off the stealthboys though

I'm avoiding power armor because I fusion cores seem to run out so frackin quickly
I have 8 or so fusion cores atm, but they last roughly ..10 minutes?
