I literally didn't pay attention to the numbers at all throughout the freedom trail, i thought i should try and remember them but didnt. I still got the code without looking anything up though, it was pretty easy to do even if you don't pay attention.

dont go all the way around to hit the r, after spelling "rail"spin it clockwise to go back to R again

You can actually avoid all that landmarks and just go to the Church and spell it out.
