Possible Bug on quest: Synth Retention

After capturing the rogue synth for the insitute, Father gives you a room and the quest wants you to check it out. Yet I get there and nothing happens. Also the coursor isn't waiting by my room either. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

I've had the same error and I haven't been able to fix it either.

I teleported back to Libertalia, where the mission took place, and as soon as I did, I saw the Courser teleport back to the Institute and the quest completed. I guess it wasn't able to complete because I teleported back before the Courser did and he got stuck.

didn't work for me. Went all trhough Libertalia againand no Courser. Still cannot complete.

I have found another way thanks to HellsGuards on Reddit. It involves using your console. Here are the steps:

Open Console
Type "ShowQuestTargets" (without quotes)
You should have "Current Quest: Inst301" (that's what mine was anyway).
Type "player.sqs Inst301" (without the quotes) it should show you on "Current Stage: 900"
Type "setstage Inst301 1000" (without the quotes), 1000 is the next stage if you look through the report from the last step.

This bug has been arround since 2015 And Bethesda hasnt fixed it in 2018!!! They seriously need us to type in these fixes? Just not good enough :(
