PS4 Controller Button problem?
Anyone using a PS4, and have to assign the buttons to the right ones everytime? Everytime I change it, it says save, but the next time I launch the game, it goes back to the default, and I have to change it again? Anyone know a fix?

Launch game, controls, button mappings aren't correct to what your inputs actually are? Sneak is on the D-PAD, so is Sprint, etc..

Buttons are flipped, and when you reset to default they do multple actions at the same time? L1 no longer functions properly?

X is Action/Jump, Triangle is Jump, L3 is Sprint/D-Pad funtions.

Some claim InputMapper fixes the issue, some claim DS4W, and some say use neither as W10 recongnizes DS4.

Nothing I do has fixed the problem.

Just ignore the mappings shown in the controller keybinding panel. THE ACTUAL MAPPING IN GAME IS CORRECT. it worked fine for me. Also, DON NOT RESET TO DEFAULT, that would map multiple actions to the same key.

Though for whatever reason when leaving V 111 VATS no longer triggers, and the button mapping on screen for prompts doesn't match what they really are.

Square is Action, when X is.

K, well I have tried using both input mapper and DS4WIndows. To be honest up till now I actually thought that DS4W was just the old version of input mapper before they changed there name and I was going to make a post saying such but I decided to check first. Turned out I was wrong so I gave DS4 win a shot. Right out of the gate DS4 did the same stuff as IM did. Analog clicks acting at clicks as dpad actions, right d pad also being backing out of options, the left analog stick skiping everyother option onthe menus. Then I tried a option suggested on DS4's site to help with weird or dual inputs. Before starting FO4 go the DS4's settings and click the "Hide DS4 controller" option at the top. Now when I went in game ♥♥♥♥ got weird... on one hand the actual inputs seem to work right now... on the other hand it seems like many button presses now act like two presses. For example: a D-pad and analog movements in menus both skip ever other selection, if you can manage to get the selection on settings it will skip strieght into gameplay settings instead of the intemeditary menu with gameplay, controls , audio and video. Almost like I hit a button twice in a row. Clicking the sticks in game does TRY to sprint or crouch but then quickly stops as if I hit the button again. Using the d-pad to navigate my favorite menu like the main menu skips right past one item to the one on the other side.

I am going to keep tweeking the settings, maybe something is still set wrong and it is causeing double pressess... but atleast the buttons actually DO the action they are mapped to now and not two actions or the wrong action.

K , seems to work for me. What I did was use DS4Win. Step one: go to settings and click that "Hide DS4 Controller" check box at the top. Step two: Go down to the option that says "Use Xinput ports" now change that too something else. I set mine to 2 and it now works fine. I think I was getting conflicts with the first port . If that doesnt work try another port. Seems to be working fine even if I change controls around.

I mean, why not get xbox controls at that point. I WANT the proper prompts for my ds4 controller!
