House in Diamond City?
Yo, making a base and etc sounds cool and all but right now I just want a house in Diamond City, cant find the mayor to ask him is there something to do to get a house there? or somewhere else maybe? thank you

Go to the secretary and speak with her for 2k caps u get a house and u can customize it.

It's on top where all the rich people are you should find a lift that says mayor on it. a person in that area where the mayor is will sell the house

There's also a lift, right where you came in into Diamond city, when you go down the stairs, on the right side, a stairs leads up to the rich people, and then on the right, to a lift. take it up by pressing the button, then go in, and turn right, theres the secretary, if youre there at night, she'll be in her room, so go further in and find her, she'll still be able to talk to you despite not working. There's also an elevator but I've forgotten exactly where it is (near the main stairs aswell, but that's all I remember, it was very discreet, and the lift goes faster).

You could give yourself the caps using the console I guess. There's probably a way to flag it as owned. Rather than do that just wait a bit and scrounge the caps. Pre-war money sells for at least 3 caps each to vendors and it seems to be everywhere.

Someone must have been trolling me on some website he told me I could get it for free if i could disarm the bomb but I guess that was a fallout 3 reference and the guy thought he was funny

It's very very easy to get 2k caps, you can also lower the difficulty if its too hard for you, making the income come faster too. Btw if you do use cheats, remember to save, and restart your game, because using the console in previous fallout games would disable achievements, unless you don't care about them.

Just pick up everything you find and go back and forth selling the stuff, you'll get it in no time. I earn like 4k caps atleast after 2-3 hours.
Mind you i have full charisma, and that may affect that I can sell anything to most traders.
