I went into Diamond City with guns blazing (during a firefight with some mutants I shot a DC resident and they got mad) and there were 4 or 5 characters that just would not die.
So I left the City, did some scavenging and a side quest and came back to DC. They were much more friendlier even though there were dead bodies scattered everywhere, lol.
I don't think anyone in Vault 81 is a part of the main story. So I would suggest kill everyone and enjoy your new underground dwelling.
Because they aren't actually on her, but in a secret pocket dimension to prevent you from going around pickpocketing all the stores every few days.
And yes yes, you could kill the shop keepers and loot their entire inventory in Fallout 1 and 2, get over it. :P
Why should I get over it? That's an awesome game design element they threw away. Oblivion had all of the merchandise on shelves and chests around the room., and I think Skyrim did, too. Why not make a chest with everything in it that only be unlocked with a key that you can only take if your stats are high enough?
See, the problem with Bethesda is that they're too busy trying to pre-script every possible journey that they take away the choices that made Fallout and TES so interactive and fun.
I wish he would have necro'd a Fallout 3 thread...better game.
