Can't fix leaky pipes at excavation site
I can finmd the leaks but there is no way to fix them pressing 'e' etc does nothing. Is this just me. I have even tried out of the power armour and no joy. do I have to have a spanner on me or something?

Follow the bubbles to the valve, press E to fix. If it's not working try reloading.

I figured it was E but have tried on three re-loads and no joy. Just to be explicit is it where the pipe is bubbling or is it where the pipe connects to the big round thingy...as I haven't tried there

there is a valve near all 3 leaks that need to be turned just find the valves and push E on them

This - If you don't know what a valve is, look it up.

Not to my knowledge - It's a slow process. Unlike another location where you can drain an entire room in seconds.

You could always return when you have the trait that prevents water from giving you radburns, and explore what is beneath the surface. Or stock up on Rad-X.

yeah it empties, unsure but i think it's part of a minuteman settlement quest

I traveled back to it about a day or so after doing this quest and it was indeed empty...and populated by a raider gang with what's-his-face down at the bottom. You get a nice piece of raider armor off of him, though, so not a total loss.

Yes I know what a valve is!!! and have spent ages slowly searching around the pipe and big spherical thingy and nothing highlights the ability to use and item. Are people all doing this in power armour, is that the problem. Not sure how you could do it without as you can't hold breath long enough

Power Armour dshouldn't matter.

The valves are pretty close to the surface. Walk around the quarry on land and look for the bubbles - Then swim straight down and look for them. We're talking a few feet below the surface for all three.

Failing that, open your console and enter TGM to make yourself immortal - if just for this one mission until you find a valve so you know what you're looking for. OR get the perk that lets you breathe in water and not get any rads from being in it. It's pretty cheap.

I did it without the power armor (sadly i have only used it twice in the hours i have played). If you pass over the valve too quickly you will miss the que to press "E". The valves are about mid ways down so don't go to far and be close enough to it to activate.'

The bubbles are a little harder to see below the surface, duck your head under and find them before going deeper as you don't need to swim far.

OK this is weird now, I found three places where there are bubbles coming out pipes at the very bottom of the quarry, miles down, this is where I have been trying to fix them. A bit misleading sending you to the bubbles, must have missed that one. That would explin it then. I'll try again.

Did you remap your activate key? I have to ask.
