[Resolved] Is there any way to send companions to their own home?
I already sent Piper back to my settlement before realising I could have tabbed out of that location selection to send her home. Now it just sends her to the last place I picked.. what can I do?

This is bothering me so much.. she is a passionate news reporter with a little sister to look out for in diamond city, and she suddenly abandons it all to grow corn at my garage in the wilderness (because she's the only one there to provide food). Wtf!

No one knows another way to get them back home? It's actually tempting to start a new game because of this lol

You are going to restart your entire game just so piper can walk around her apartment doing jack sh*t. Are you serious right now?

Cant believe I just read this
By the way no you can't send her back to her own home.

i really dont like that you cant send someone to your apartment in diamond city. not being able to link the workstations through supply lines makes that apartment basically useless. wish i had kept my 2k caps

Why this attitude? It is a roleplaying game in the end as well and if the OP thinks it is worth a restart, who the ♥♥♥♥ are you to judge that?
I totally understand why it is a problem for the the OP as it messes up HIS/HER experience with the game(i have the same problem with this) so just keep your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude and answer polite or don't answer at all.

@OP i guess there may be a console command for this somewhere, i havent found it yet though :I

I have to admit, even I felt a bit sad that her sister was left on the stand :D

I hoped that her sister will follow me to the Sanctuary. But oh well, that's why there's mods for that.

I have good news, its easy to send them back to their home. when it asks you where to send them. dont say anything and stand there silent, eventually they will "interrupt" and say they are going back to "insert home here"
Glad to have helped

1. Dismiss your current companion and send him/her to where you want to find them.
2. Make her you companion.
3. Dismiss her again.
4. Send her to where you want (within the options provided).

But you can't sent her back to diamond city once you choosed another location before for her when dismissing her, at least not with the way you described or do i miss something here?

Well, i guess its not working for me and i can't see how, since the ingame time freezes when you have to decide where to send them.

All you have to do is cancel out of the selection and they will go to their default home, pretty easy.

Only if you haven't sent them anywhere else first.

This.

Damn, i just tried to make it work with maximum settlement population cap, like sending piper to sanctuary, going there, recruiting here again, sending the maximum amount of settlers from another settlement there and recruiting another companion while pressing Tab when the list comes up to send piper somewhere.
She still gets send to sanctuary but doesn't count towards the settlement cap anymore.
There has to be some kind of console command to set the companion-home status back to original but i haven't found it yet.

Little stuff like that make me dislike the role-playing in this game. Can't believe they failed to insert a "home" option when dismissing companions.
