Danse Bug Endgame "Spoilers"
Im new to these forums so if im missing a tag let me know

The information below has Spoilers to it, a great deal of them, so only look if you have completed the storyline of Fallout 4.

Ive progressed through the Brotherhood story, and Kept Danse alive to where he can remain your follower, as long as hes not near he rest of the brotherhood. I ended up posting him in The Castle, not a good idea as the area is under attack by brotherhood if hes there. Then i changed sides, followed the Institute, and Destroyed the Brotherhood. Upon talking to Danse again, the only dialog is from my character asking to trade, and thats it. I assume if he knew the situation, hed turn hostile like he does if u attack the brotherhood at any other time, im just curious.

So to sum it up w/o spoilers included, Danse is at The Castle, and has no dialog, and will only trade items.

Am I stuck with a Statue of George Clooney? Or can i get him moving again.

I'm sorry, I can't help you, but I just thought I'd let you know you're not alone - I just beat the game after siding with the Railroad, and now Danse won't talk to me or be recruited again, all I can do is trade items with him. He still hangs around Sanctuary like a regular follower, but I can kill him if so desired, so it's like he's a regular NPC as well.

Honestly I don't know if it's a bug or his response to certain decisions made regarding the Brotherhood, but I'm disappointed either way. I'm beginning to wish I'd never bothered completing the main story because it seems to introduce a whole host of issues and concerns.

Same thing is going on with me, I sided with the Railroad.

It can probably be corrected with a console command, but unfortunately I'm a PS4 user. What I'm doing posting this on a Steam forum is anyone's guess, but this is the only topic about this bug I was able to find on Google.

Old save here I come, I guess.

Ive tried killing and and resing Via console, he comes back in his BOS T-60 Powerarmor, after that I didnt try much further and reloaded. From what it seems, hes only currently programed to be a follower if you sided with the Brotherhood all the way, and has no dialog for other options, seeing how he would be considered an enemy.

Real shame, he was my fav follower, only one that looked good in power armor, even had X-1.
Maybe a future update will fix him.

I can understand from a story standpoint that he'd be angry if you eliminated the Brotherhood, but the fact that he just hangs around, silent, and doesn't trigger a confrontation regarding your actions, is bizarre. It's hard to know if it's a bug or not, but right now it feels like he's in a state of limbo.

I would prefer he turn hostile under those circumstances, or leave the game world.

Yeah, me too. At least then I'd know for sure.

All the micromanagement and trying to keep the various factions happy really sullied my last few days of playing the game, so maybe it's best I load an old save and pretend none of this ever happened.

Yea no closure at all, would rather him just leave as intended, but didnt wanna see him die either. I have a hard time dealing with him on my anti brotherhood playthrough, I just avoid the station. Danse? whos that, dont know him, move along.

Im having this problem, too. It has to be a bug because he was able to be a follower earlier, and when he was a follower it made me an enemy of the brotherhood, which went away when i switched out companions. Now he just stands there with a trade option.

I have the same problem too. He was the reason I switched sides from brotherhood to institute and now he won't even talk to me :/ He was the best companion I've had so far

Has anyone found any solution to this? My Danse is doing the same thing. I don't think it has anythign to do with your faction decisions. This same exact bug happens regularly with my shopkeepers so I am pretty sure it is just an unintentional bug. It's super frustrating.

This isn't a bug he hates you if you fight the brotherhood because he is apart of that faction as far as I know you can not fix it the only way to keep him as a companion is to join the brotherhood or just don't complete any sides. Hopes this helps.

It is a bug, the intended response for attacking the brotherhood is him going hostile, Ive seen other NPCs do this. Glory being one, if you beat the main story with the MM, and then go back with railroad quest.

There is no fix as of now, some NPCs just dont have dialog options for some story paths you take. This is the kinda thing a patch may or not fix, if the devs notice it, or decide if its a big enough issue to address, and add additional voice lines.

Its a shame, I liked Buzz lightyear while he talked.

any fix?
PolecatEZ Dec 13, 2015 @ 6:28pm
There's a series of console commands that bring back their follower status. Its a fairly complex fix though.
