Radio Transmitter Glitched?
Seems like my radio freedom has died, NPC says it needs power but its hooked up to a 10 power generation and was working fine earlier.

Anyone know a command or way to fix it? It seems like the NPC may have gotten unassigned from the radio and I can't put him back as the transmitter shows the NPC icon as red.

I've tried resetting the AI scripts and disabling/renabling it but he refuses to use the transmitter and just tells me to turn it on which I can't because its already on...

Edit: Disconnecting power and changing generators does nothing either.

its possible that generators, guns, shops etc were destroyed and must be repaired.

1. Open up console using ~

2. Select the radio transmitter (hex value should be 0009FF48[EP])
you can confirm its the right reference by selecting the radio transmitter, typing "sv" and confirming "bAllowPlayerAssignment = False" is a listed autoproperty in the Papyrus output.

3. with the radio transmitter selected type:
"setpapyrusvar bAllowPlayerAssignment True"

4. with the radio transmitter selected type:
"sv" to confirm the variable has been changed

5. assign any random settler to the radio transmitter, this should force the minute man to sit down and start using it again

6. with the settler you assigned to the transmitter selected, type:
"setpapyrusvar bWork24Hours True" this should make the radio still work at night

Should allow for artillery strikes and trading with shaw until the real fix comes out.
This works almost perfectly in that it forces the minuteman radio broadcaster to sit down and operate the radio 24 hours, the radio works fine now, however it doesn't help with Ronnie Shaw refusing to barter. I'm gonna search around the forums for any fixes.

I may have found a MUCH EASIER way to fix this. Long story short, wherever your power is, connect the radio tower to the switch that's near the doorway. turn the switch on.

This hasnt done anything for me. This occured after last patch and not sure what triggered it, but have built a generator next to transmitter and put right next to it and wired solely to transmitter.

I can even see that the power shows red unhooked and blue when attached, the only thing red is the assigned person icon which you cant control. I am playing on console so cant use any commands to fix. Rest of base gets power, and I have even eliminated rest of base and had 5 generators, 2 med 3 small isolated and only running to a large pylon and transmitter and still nothing.

I have this problem too, I've tried replacing the generators, and the lines connected to the transmitter. We need a patch.

Had this happen to me recently. It was during the BOS counterattack after we took down the Prydwen. Thanks for the workaround :D Hopefully Bethesda does fix this. Also does anyone know if the command "tcai" on that said Minuteman radio operator is a good thing to enable? Since it would take out his combat abilities? Just looking to make sure it doesn't happen again.

This might be silly... Others may have tried this as well. The simple fix for me was to
1) Disconnect my 2 generators
2) Move them next to the wall with the "Switched Power Pylon".
3) Connect power from the Generators to the "Switched Power Pylon".
4) Connect power from the "Switched Power Pylon" to a Large Power Pylon (placed in between the radio transmitter and the "Switched Power Pylon".
5) Connect power from the Large Power Pylon to the Radio Transmitter

BAM! Quest completed!! I hope this helps someone else.

So i did this but when i first type "sv" it says there are no papyrus scripts attached, any suggestion?

Do you have it selected as in the first steps? SV just shows you the verialbe set to whatever you have selected.

awesome thanks massively!

since the other worker is effectively running the radio, does this mean I can shoot the "you need to power up the transmitter" guy in the face? cause that would make me feel alot better after messing around with this crap for like 2 hours!

FIXT IT :D Assign a Setteler to de raidio cantrol and for somme reason de raidio guy satt down and started brodcasting :D :D
smithdaddie Jan 10, 2016 @ 3:30am
So I kinda fixed this, or at least went around it. Instead of talking to Ronnie and starting the quest "Old Guns" I just cleared the rubble and headed to the basement. There I killed Sarge and then went back to Ronnie, switched it back to very hard difficulty then started the quest.

Things I did that I don't know if they matter 1) I assigned all minutemen in the castle to shops in on the opposite side from the door you must open and did the quest when they were at the shop. This was before I moved any settlers to the castle. 2) I did not have a companion for this part of the quest. 3) I changed the difficultly from very hard to very easy for the Sarge fight. 4) Reloaded if a single mine went off. 5) I used a tactic of sneak, attack sarge in vats, run away, sneak til I'm hidden, and repeat. With this strat, Sarge was back by the locked door when he exploded, which is far from the transmitter. 6) Once i was
in the tunnel with Ronnie I ran ahead on the path she was going to take and disarmed any mines (may be a glitch but sometimes when I save and load mine spawns change. I found 2 mines on her path to take out)

any questions, email me at npsmith@butler.edu
Hope this helps avoid hours of trouble shooting for some of you.
