I'm desperate here. Quest refuses to work.

Right, so I've had trouble with the Benign Intervention quest not starting.

So, after approximately 3 or more hours of searching the internet and the game's console, I finally found the QuestID

(For anyone interested It's: COMCaitQuest or 001666C5)

Hurray! All my problems are solved!
Wait, what?

I use the sqs command to get the quest stages.

I've tried both
setstage COMCaitQuest 10
setstage 001666C5 10
player.setstage COMCaitQuest 10
player.setstage 001666C5 10

Nothing happens.

And I've also experimented with ALL the quest stages.
The quest stages being 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, 90, 100, 110, 255 and 355.

I write getstage COMCaitQuest 10, and I see It's set to 0. Even after I do the setstage command.

Now, if this doesn't seem broken enough for you yet, wait, there's more.
I try doing 'completequest 001666C5'

Yay! I got XP! That means it works, right? NO. YOU'RE WRONG. IT DOESN'T WORK. I LOOK IN MY JOURNAL, AND THERE IS NO HISTORY OF THE QUEST EVEN EXISTING.

I DO GETSTAGE AGAIN AND IT'S STILL 0! HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE?!

PLEASE, WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ IS THIS?!

Well ladies and gents, I had my friend try the same command as me, and it worked for him. So I just have no idea how this got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so badly.

I have tried simple commands such as tgm and they work fine. It's just this simply refuses to work. I've even loaded earlier saves and tried to use the command there. To put it simply, iz foked.

I've spent at least 5 hours doing this, and I've come to the conclusion that this is beyond user fixing. Bethesda has an amazing way of creating glitches.

Example, you have a specific gun, in a specific room, you just spoke with a specific person, your save is now wiped.

Bethesda somehow managed to f*ck this up to the point of no return.

rip man im having the same issues with Tactical thinking cant even finish the game because of it so im waiting for a fix that will come in hopefully a month

Yeah, I just really don't want to wait a month for Bethesda to patch this.

having that problem too, i would just like to reset my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quest, and it's pissing me off.

Edit: Well mines actually this quest: "Curtain Call" ... if you know how to get that ID that'd help me, maybe then i could mess around and figure something out for you :P

avoid the BoS ending theres about 3 bugs right now that just crashes the game and bugs quest just a fyi

Try 'MS10MiscTrinityTower'. Might be it.

Edit: If you already have the quest and want to reset it just do 'sqt' and find it there.

so apperently i did my quests in the wrong order which makes no sense at all should i try to reset back or see if a patch comes in to fix it?

You're right, that makes absolutely no sense. Bethesda has a lot to fix, so I expect this will be one of the last things they'll ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix.
