Lesson of the month: There are no dump stats in FO4.

You could have put 4 in everything and walked away. Maybe even put only 3 with certain foreknowledge.

Bets on whether he knows he can spend perk points to raise his stats?

Makes no sense to put locksmithing in the perception tree. They are completely unrelated. Classically, RPG's would put picking locks together with dexterity, which does not exist in this game.

In Fallout, the actual act of picking locks does not relate to any of the attributes directly. Maybe intelligence if any, but I guess they didn't feel like they wanted to put both hacking and picking locks in the same perk tree.

I like the change. You actually have to put points into special to actually use useful perks. No more ignoring charisma or luck for me.

I would say it belongs to perception as the stat is based on your five senses which can then be translated to manual dexterity. Intelligence is your knowlege of sciency stuff and you capacity to learn.

I disagree. Though, I think the whole perception tree feels a bit weird. Like the random + energy resistance thrown in there?

I like they tried something new with the perks to make all stats feel more viable, but it feels so damn arbitrary that they had to give every stat 10 perks.

Perception is about your five senses. You are feeling and hearing the lock, which is how real lockpicking is done. It doesn't use bullet-dodging or juggling skills.

The rest of the arguement is just inane. There are no casual dumpstats, and usually the first 6 perks in any tree are nearly indespensible.

The difficulty in "real lockpicking" -with pins at least- lies in keeping hands steadyi which I'm sure you'll agree relies on your dexterity -dubbed agility in some games- rather than perception.
