How do i use a PS3 controller?

I heard it was posible for F3. Is there a way to do it for F4? (I've never used a controller on Steam, other than my G27 wheel)

Still need help! I got as far as installing the drivers to make it visible to Windows and Steam, but Fallout 4 still doesn't see it :(

i cant be the ONLY one trying to use a ps3 controller?!? Can someone at least recomend a decent gamepad-type controller that does work?

After a lot of failures I found this video which allowed me to use my ps3 controller on FO4.

But another problem arose when I tested it in game. Whenever I fire my weapon the controller stops working completely. So try that video out and lete know if it works.

Thanks for the reply. I actually got it to work by following the instructions on this video:

It didn't seem to work at first but I somehow got it working. Now all have to do is connect my controller, and launch this file: ScpServer.exe before I start the game.
I have Win8.1 so I didn't need to do any of the updates like DirectX. (my dual shock is conected via USB)

You connect the controller first then launch the game. If you do it the other way around the game will not recognize it.

By the way, I gave up on the PS3 controller because I didn't like the way the analog sticks felt/moved. I now use an Xbox One controller. It feels better, but not my much.
