Hacking question re: "Likeness"
Does "Likeness" merely represent how many letters are in the password?

And it does NOT represent any sort of order?

For example...a Likeness of 1 for the word "Very" just means that the password contains v, e, r, or y. It does NOT mean also that one of those letters are in the right location of the password...is that correct?

My understanding is that a Likeness of one for the word "Very" means that the password contains one letter of that word in that position. At least that's how it seems to have worked for me so far.

Likeness say, 3, means that the real password has 3 of the same letters in the exact same spot.

you put Bury, you get Likeness: 1 means one of those letters is right, and in the right spot.

That is what I thought...but if that is the case, why didn't this work out?

"y" would be the ONLY similarity in the first 2 words which resulted in a likeliness of 1. Then the last word which has a "y" at the end, came up 0 for likeliness.

Very = 1
Play = 1
Grey = 0

The only way I can make sense of that is that it is possible for the password to have the following characters:

v, r, p, l, a

Like and Dike likeness is 3.
Miwaku Nov 14, 2015 @ 1:17pm
yeah, but you can have a word with a letter from VERY, and 1 from PLAY, they don't have to be the same, like LEAD

Right, but that doesn't answer the question because it could be a 3 because of shared letters and only shared letters...or because 3 of the letters are in the same exact location as the password (which might be Mike, for example).

Right, but then that means that it is NOT the case the likeliness refers to same letters AND in the same location as the pw, it only refers to "same letters as pw."

Yeah I seen that happen I thinki its just possible letters but not its position.
Samael Nov 14, 2015 @ 1:20pm
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ... its not that hard to understand. Likeliness 2 means that there is 2 letters in the password AT THE SAME LOCATION IN THE PASSWORD WORD.
Miwaku Nov 14, 2015 @ 1:21pm
the likeness is the number of letters in the select word in the right place than in the word you need to find :
ex :
you need to find LEAD
VERY : likeness 1 => the E
PLAY : likeness 1 => the A

Relax there, chuckles. It's not an issue of confusion but rather one of confirmation.

Look better, I've given you the answer...

OK, so then with "Grey" coming up likelines 0, it would make sense.

F3, yes. NV not much at all. And it's been years since I've played.
