That's because the game engine/physics is tied to the FPS. If you have you game running at 120FPS you'll problably be moving at twice the speed.

Its stupid and this was also an issue in Skyrim. As far as I know there's no way to fix it :/

The game runs fine at 120 FPS, animations start to speed up around 150-200 FPS

Animations speed up at anything above 60. Will obviously be hard to notice at ~65 FPS, but on certain things I could notice it even at 72FPS. Lock it to 60 or risk breaking things.

you are wrong.

Proof? Plenty of posts about people with ~100 FPS that literally get frozen after using terminals and unable to move. I know for a fact that the animations when choosing your SPECIAL stats at the start of the game are sped up even at 72FPS, and codsworth got stuck on a barrel too when he was meant to be exploring a house, which I assume was also caused by it.

you are wrong, i have over 70 hours in the game at 120 fps, nothing breaks and there is no speed up
Some pieces of dialogue are cut a word or two short at FPS exceeding 70fps, at least for me, anyway.

I had this too. The subtitles also broke occasionally, just freezing on one piece of dialogue forever. Hence what I said earlier.. 60FPS or risk bugs.

then theres some other variable than just the frame rate because ive never encountered anything like what you guys are describing, only at much higher frame rates does the game start acting weird for me, like i said 150-200+

Or maybe you just don't know how the game is meant to run because you've never capped it at 60..? It's not like the speed triples every 10FPS you go up, but it does increase. Go back to the start of the game before you choose your SPECIAL stats. Cap it at 60, watch the animations. Uncap it, and watch them again. They will run significantly faster/slower based on FPS.

Same goes for your movement speed, certain animations, lockpicking..

nope.

Good arguement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4EHjFkVw-s
Here's some proof. 60 FPS, 144 FPS and 26 FPS. All 3 at easily noticeable speed differences. Every single FPS above 60 increases the game speed, just not by a lot.

thats not proof, i said above 120 FPS, 144 FPS will certainly cause issues

seriously guy?

Character frozen at a terminal because of 90FPS. Read the forums, or any of the many news articles about it. A lot of the games mechanics are tied to the FPS. They're designed to be run at ~60FPS. Going above that will cause problems. I'm sure you could run at 65FPS and notice almost no difference, but there's a chance it will cause problems.

I noticed 3 problems with only 72FPS, and people have noticed many more with different FPS amounts.

frozen terminals have happened to my friends playing at 60 fps, youre assuming its because of 90 fps, if i need to say it again, ive been playing the game for 70 hours at 120 fps and have never had any dialogue cut off or any animation speed ups nor have i ever been stuck in a terminal

I've given you plenty of proof. Your original claim of..

was completely false. As you saw in the original video, it speeds up a LOT, before 150 FPS. Atleast 30% faster at 144 FPS. It isn't hard to imagine 100FPS is ~15% faster (roughly). Any amount of FPS above 60 will be faster, even 65. 65 Might be so tiny that you would need to record it and play it back in slow motion to notice, but it will be faster. Personally I noticed it at 72, which I imagine is.. about 5% faster.

You didnt notice anything, you're delusional

Well you're clearly either trolling or blind so I'll leave you to yourself, because absolutely no one in this thread has agreed with you at all. It's a well known thing that higher FPS = faster game.

Its not up for argument, im making a factual statement about my gameplay, dont make a claim that 120 fps ruins the game to others when the same bugs youre talking about are rife throughout without any ini changes to the game, and claiming you can tell a speed up at 70 fps proves that you're a complete idiot

Lol you are trolling hopefully I read this whole discussion and you seem to be autistic or trolling in some way did you even watch the video's he copied in here?!
