EDIT: Yeah it does! Analog multi channel works.
A few games work fine like Skyrim and a few others. But some games don't (that used to) Like Shadow of Mordor.
I don't think it's Fallout 4 that is the problem. I think it is still a problem with the DD Live and DTS Interactive in Win 10.
But you could be right. I should read up on what people at the microsoft thread have concluded.
Here is the link:

EDIT:
I decided to plug in the old X-FI Titanium from my old computer and both Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive worked without a problem in Fallout 4.
So this could be a problem with Fallout 4 and realtek DTS or Windows 10 with Realtek driver
@mallow81: Do you also have a Realtek chip with DTS Interactive?
I wonder if updating the drivers would help... I'll check it out. Maybe together we'll solve this thing.
So you used a PCIE add on sound board with Optical Out with DDLive and it got correct positional 5.1 with Fallout4? Then I agree, that it is most likely the RealTeck with Win 10.
I just uninstalled all audio drivers and upudated to the most recent by RealTek. No change in the situation. Then tried again with the newest drivers from Windows Update. Still no change.
Yeah I plugged in my pcie x-fi but that's creative so it works without issues.
This is a problem with xaudio and realtek using uptical out has has been going on since windows 7. At the moment the only solution seems to be to hexedit lot's of xaudio*.dll files in the system 32 folder. So it's not something everyone should do.
I haven't bothered editing the dll files since I'm using my x-fi at the moment. But it seems there are pre edited files you can just copy paste.
Let's see if I can find the link to the workaround:

Here is an old thread on microsofts forums from 2012 about it:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-gaming/has-xaudio2-been-fixed-for-dolby-digital-yet/304c4dc9-ea55-48f4-b08b-9946700763fe?rtAction=1400505261779&auth=1
As you can see. This is not something that only has to do with Fallout 4. So I guess Bethesda aint gonna fix this since microsoft has to do it.
Oh and by using realteks own drivers the DDLive and DTS Interactive may not work since they are not licensed. You have to download the drivers from your mobo maker or windows update, I think.
This been fixed yet?
