How do you collect money from your shops?
Before building it it says the shop provides income based on population. But where how do you collect the income?

Look in workshop inventory, there is a misc tab with the caps. Same for food/water production.

Hmm ive had a shop for days running no misc tab with caps. Do i have to set up supply lines or something? If so to where and how.

Not sure, lot of things not explained, now I think the base shops don't generate lot of money. Have 3-4 base shops in 2 settlement with 10 peoples (income depend of number of settlers it say) and I find some caps in workshop inventory regulary.

I think the bottlecaps are only shown in the tab that displays all stored items.
In Sanctuary I have 21 people and 4 of the highest level shops, and occasionally I find 100-400 bottlecaps.

you also need to assign someone to the shop, otherwise it wont do anything.
I read you also need someone not doing work so they can spend money.

It's really not explained at all. I figured it out by accident. When you go up to one of the workbenches click R (on a keyboard) to transfer stuff. If you've been dumping all your junk in there, you'll see it all on the right hand side. Scroll through the menus. You should notice you have stuff under Aid (like food and water) and Misc (where your caps go), in addition to all the junk you've been putting in there.

Yah ive had a shop since level 14. Im level 25 now. There is no misc tab with caps in the workshop, and ive always had a person on the shop. I do see the food thats been grown though.

Really? Weird. I usually get a few caps per day. Not much, but it's something. I wonder if you need to have traders coming through or if there's some other factor that makes them earn money. For that matter, I wonder what makes sell better stuff too, because right now they just sell junk.

I have a the highest weapon shop now, and the one below it no caps.

When you make a new shop it will use whats in the workshop first, before it uses whats in your inventory. So if you are making new shops, and then checking, or have made a new shop in the last few days it will most likely have zero caps.

The weapon shops are bugged. You can't get a settler to work at them. If you set up a trading shop (or clothing, whatever) and wait a couple days then check in your workshop junk storage and there will be "bottle caps"... just look alphabetically.

According to the tool tip,the more setllers you have in that particular settlement, the higher the income but I'll be damned if I see any difference in it at all.

I think this is true. I started getting caps yesterday but woke up today and played again, didnt check for caps but immidiatly made a another shop then checked for caps and they weren't there. Then played a little longer and they were.

I Have found that even with supply lines i need to go get the caps from individual workshops....had 90 caps at sanctary and like 60 caps at red rocket...now am i right in thinking worshops share all resouses incluing caps if they are linked to a supply line....?
