Can Settlement Workshops share INVENTORY? (guns, armor, etc. not resources!)
Yes, I KNOW that the Local Leader Perk lets me share resources and junk items with supply lines, but I'm talking about stored inventory, such as guns or armor.

I often just run back into the closest settlement after exploring to wasteland to offload items. Problem is, at the very beginning I threw most of my stuff into Sanctuary, and now that I've progressed into the city proper, I prefer not to take the longer trip back to Sanctuary.

That was when I noticed that all the guns and armor I dumped into Sanctuary are not showing up in Hangmans Alley etc, even though I've already established supply lines. Is this the same for everyone? That there is NO WAY to share non-junk inventory such as guns/armor/clothes.

Nope, the only things shared are the various crafting supplies.

wow i didnt know that, that really sucks. i had assumed all items would be shared with supply lines. darn thats a lot less appealing now.

If it's any consolation, I'm sure sombody will mod this to make all inventory share-able in the near future.

Yeah I hope they add it into the future, its really pain in the ass equipping my settlers and It's another task to haul up the weapons from sanctuary to another

I keep all my weapons/gear in one settlement with no settlers in it because if you get attacked they can grab stuff like nukes and do a lot of damage lol

By various 'crafting materials' do you means stuff like Wood and Steel AND junk like Hot Plates or Coffee Cups?

Or in order for me to share these raw materials I should be breaking these things down first?

Anything that is in the Junk category can be used as crafting materials at any Settlement linked and/or chained to it.

Ive read a lot of responses on this topic and am now sure I must be missing something. I have connected at least 6 settlements and even have the lines connecting them to show for it. They DO NOT share inventory!! I am actually only trying to get the inventory shared. I have one spot for my guns and collectibles but I really need the shared inventory for creation of settlements and so forth. Anybody please help! What am I missing?

There's really not alot of reason to equip the majority of your settler's anyway, as your settlement defenses will do a far better job of defence then your settlers ever will...

I'll generally just equip my provisioners, and any settler manning a guard post, otherwise anything that drops during an attack is randomly distributed amongst the settlers there...

Nope only building materials and Food and Water can be shared between settlements

Use Homeplate at Diamond City for your gear, best location for it

The items stored in a Workshp will be not shown in the inventory of another Workshop, but in build mode the materials generated by those items will count as available.
= if you have a bat stored in Sanctuary, you will not see it in Abernathy Farm inventory, but there you will have 2 wood units available in build mode.

No, you won't... Unless there is some bug that automatically breaks down weapons in storage, having weapons stored will not add any additional resources to another settlement... Period...

i haven't unlock settlement supply lines, though this is how i manage weapon and armor inventories:
- for companion, only give them the best melee weapon. in term of armor, give the best as at what i have. when i know i reached the end game stuffs, may reequip them.
- for settlement, same approach for armor, though the best is always for me, 2nd best companion, then rest to the settler, and i only equipe 1 of them, especially the one i assigned to guard-post. the rest i will equip 1 by 1, whenever they been attacked, and i see the need to improve them
- for setttler weapon, i decide on only using 1 type of weapon, laser rifle, don't really care about the modding, give them whatever i have.

the rest of the armor and weapon, i just simply scrap them

Comedy. ;)

Watching settlers pull out miniguns, Gatling lasers and Gauss rifles to perforate enemies can provide a show, especially when the settlement is very close to another location that spawns enemies. I got to watch as the settlers of Kingsport Lighthouse went on the warpath, invaded Crater House, fought the cultists there, and continued to hang out until I walked back to the Lighthouse and waited on a chair for an hour.

Not true, the workshop sharing only works with the Junk and Aid section (Building Material, Water and Food), it won't see anything in weapon, gear, misc, weapon mods or ammo, the Bat you speak of for example would be in weapons
