Or in order for me to share these raw materials I should be breaking these things down first?
Anything that is in the Junk category can be used as crafting materials at any Settlement linked and/or chained to it.
I'll generally just equip my provisioners, and any settler manning a guard post, otherwise anything that drops during an attack is randomly distributed amongst the settlers there...
Use Homeplate at Diamond City for your gear, best location for it
= if you have a bat stored in Sanctuary, you will not see it in Abernathy Farm inventory, but there you will have 2 wood units available in build mode.
No, you won't... Unless there is some bug that automatically breaks down weapons in storage, having weapons stored will not add any additional resources to another settlement... Period...
- for companion, only give them the best melee weapon. in term of armor, give the best as at what i have. when i know i reached the end game stuffs, may reequip them.
- for settlement, same approach for armor, though the best is always for me, 2nd best companion, then rest to the settler, and i only equipe 1 of them, especially the one i assigned to guard-post. the rest i will equip 1 by 1, whenever they been attacked, and i see the need to improve them
- for setttler weapon, i decide on only using 1 type of weapon, laser rifle, don't really care about the modding, give them whatever i have.
the rest of the armor and weapon, i just simply scrap them
Comedy. ;)
Watching settlers pull out miniguns, Gatling lasers and Gauss rifles to perforate enemies can provide a show, especially when the settlement is very close to another location that spawns enemies. I got to watch as the settlers of Kingsport Lighthouse went on the warpath, invaded Crater House, fought the cultists there, and continued to hang out until I walked back to the Lighthouse and waited on a chair for an hour.
Not true, the workshop sharing only works with the Junk and Aid section (Building Material, Water and Food), it won't see anything in weapon, gear, misc, weapon mods or ammo, the Bat you speak of for example would be in weapons
