Sidequest Duty or Dishonor bug

I've followed Clarke to the crashed airplane, but he seems to just go up and down the stairs rather than do anything.
Is he supposed to do anything or what?

having a similar problem right now. even tried reloading a previous save to deal with it.
but he just stands around saying "give me some space"
cant talk to him, and even though im hidden inside, i can still hear him spamming that line outside.
also tried sitting on a couch and wait for 1 hour. same goes.
completed the quest on another character with no problems.
only difference is, on the other character i managed to get the info directly from knight lucia. on this one, i had to go rooting around in their personal stuff to find her logs.

Hi had this bug and fixed it. Go into the console (` on PC) and type tdetect to stop AI from seeing you. Waited a second to get him moving hid then typed it again to turn AI detection back on.

im having a similar issue

for me, when i shadow clarke, he gets a few steps outside the door then stops and just wont ever move again

You might need to reload the save. then attempt Shiny's method

Had same issue. MY FIX... make sure you are solo, remove any power armor (too noisy) and SNEAK. YMMV

Where exactly is he? Is he just walking out or did he spot you first?

With different mods and different bugs that are created as a result of the decisions made in the game, often none of these solutions will work at all. I have played many run through's and this bug happened on most of them. Sometimes these solutions will work, eg "tdetect".
But mostly I had to use the console to set the mission stage to the stage after you follow Clarke and vuala, fixed every time.

You have to use the command "setstage BOSM02 200" This will fix clarke not moving. But when you get to the building he his heading for, you just need to wait a minute when you enter for clarke to get to his scripted position.

I meant to add this a long time ago but I couldnt be bothered. This time I thought I'd help out.

This was back shortly after the launch of the game. At that point in time if he detected you he would bug out and stay in a certain area almost indefinitely, for me he just kept going up and down the stairs of the crashed cockpit.
