Settlement Bug
In Pip Boy > Data > Workshops it will show your current settlements and their stats.

On the pipboy for Sanctuary Hills i get an exclamation point saying i need more beds, however when i travel to that place i've actually have enough beds. Same with other settlement....and the problem isn't just beds...its water, food or maybe power... I am 100% sure i have enough resource on each settlement....:steamfacepalm: Also everytime when i travel there the exclamation mark disappear...

This is a pretty annoying bug...

PS: The settlement system isn't fully optimized...Looking foward for mods that will improve settlement system :ss13ok:

For beds, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is, do you have human companions staying at the settlement? They won't count in the villager number, but they will still sleep in beds, causing your settlers to complain about lack of beds.

I've had this problem with food and water for sanctuary, can confirm this is quite the annoying bug.

I agree it will be nice to see the mods that come out, I for one would really like something that tells me where someone is assigned. While highlighting them you can see what shop or crop they are working on but I have a bit of a complex layout in Sanctuary and half the time can't see whatever they work on. A simple "Farmer" or "Trader" tag would help a ton.

Yea, i did make sure that my companion isnt in that settlement...For example, in my Red Rocket Truck Stop i've got 15 beds, but on my pipboy it only says 6.... I've even place the bed on the ground with nothing around it.... Weird uh... :steamfacepalm:

I've got this bug as well, pops up for pretty much every settlement I've built stuff at, Sanctuary, Tenpines Bluff, Greentop Nursery, etc. Sometimes it just shows one stat incorrectly, sometimes several. It tends to stay corrected for the last settlement I visited, but as soon as I go to a new one it glitches again. Hoping for a fix soon as the happiness starts tanking when it thinks there are not enough resources...

Same issue. Shows 0 rescources in places where I have plenty. Travel there and everything is fine. Annoying bug!

I found a solution that helped me, don't know about others. As long as there is at least one TV in the settlement, it will be bugged like you described, showing wrong numbers when you are far from it. It sounds crazy, but the bug disappeared when I destroyed all TVs in settlements.

You need to destroy every single one, both those that have been there from the beginning and those built by yourself (if you did it).

Atm I played for a few days without this bug. I suppose there could be other bugged items, so be careful when you build something unusual, you never know.

I Have this bug it is insanely annoying/painful as I've built a massive amount of stuff in the settlement known as Sanctuary. I've heard many solutions for the bug on Reddit and 2 other sites:

1. Sleep for 24 hours in sanctuary

2. Delete all power/water/food/beds stuffs etc and rebuild them

3. Try walking OUT of the settlement before fast travel, fast travel in is ok but fast traveling out is what glitches it

4. Fast travel to an intermediary location that you find to be 'safe' (ie safe means when you fast travel there the glitch does not appear) then fast travel to where you actually wanted to go and always use this place from now on

5. Delete and rebuild shops/stores in your settlement (I don't have the local leader perk but still have the bug so this doesn't apply to me)

Well i tried most of these (i only deleted/rebuilt the beds however and not all my stuff since that would make me want to kill myself) and have found none of them to be successful. The only time my settlements hapiness and ♥♥♥♥ goes up/stays up is when im actually there. All my stats for the settelement are way above what they need to be. Would really like a fix for this plz.

I have heard of tv's working in another forum for one other user. Would prefer not to delete them all but will do to see if it works. Very glad to hear yours has been bug free for a few days and I do admit that my only settlement with tv's is the only problem......hmmmm........ will let you know if it works.

Love the game but this is a game breaking bug for me.

Great catch! This totally worked for me, went back to the bugged settlements and just put all the tv's into workshop storage (didn't scrap them). Been playing for a couple hours since doing that and it hasn't bugged again at all! My happiness is finally going up on those settlements :D

Hey so after MUCH TESTING putting everything (except water sources) on top of wood planks/floors DID work for me and when I fast travel now my resources stay accurate.
IE put all your turrets and beds on wood floors that you've built.

ps. TV's did not work for me

Still having trouble with water not going to 0. Lucky for me food is not glitched.

Make sure they can use the beds. Unless you use sleeping bags and matresses on the floor, they need plenty of room to reach the side of the bed to climb into them.

@ Shogun771 : Yes! Putting my power sources, beds, and turrets on constructed platforms solved the fluctuating settlement resource numbers for me as well.

Thank you, everyone who hunted for solutions to this!

Hope abandoning those old-prefab houses solves the problem for others as well.

I discovered how to resolve the issue where your pipboy stats do not register with your actual settlement stats. Ex: says you have zero beds when actually you have 20. The reason for this is a fast travel bug. To fix this issue you must walk outside the settlement building boundaries before fast traveling away from the settlement. I use this every time I leave a settlement and it resolved the issue 100% of the time. The problem is you must make sure to NEVER fast travel from within a settlements boundaries or the bug will come back. It sucks but this is how you put a band aid on a broken fast travel bug until it gets resolved or patched. Good luck hope this helps! Spread the word! Please return and Post if this works for you!
