Fusion Core drain rate
I feel like the drain rate is way too fast. Also I seem to remember at some point in earlier Fallout games it was said that supposedly a core should last a very long time in a suit of power armor. possibly even years. but in this game its like half an hout without the perks. Is there some way to edit the rate in some file somewhere?

Oh snap, my fault.
Been on a roll of arguing on fallout forums over the new lore and what it means, probably shouldn't have assumed.
Sorry for coming off as a prick, I expected this to be like the last few.

That's not the point though. Fusion cores aren't that hard to come by, but it's quite a hassle to get out and change your core every 20 minutes.

I ended the game with 48 cores, despite the fact that I was using my Power Suit almost exclusively once I had 5+ cores saved up, and even despite the fact that I had a Jetpack that drains fusion cores faster than anything else you could do.

If you're really hurting for it, get the fusion core perk to double their run time.

Power armour is unquestionably the best armor in the game... even the T-45 is extremely powerful compared to Heavy Combat armour. T-60 is just an enormous step up on top of it being unfair already. Personally, I find it lore breaking to need to reload a core every 30 minutes or so, and I wish they were a lot rarer/far more expensive but lasted hours.

lol lore breaking....thats how at least the t-45 was desgined

Does anyone know if all power armor drains the fusion core at the same rate? For example, since the T45 is a lighter model and provides less defense, does it drain the fusion core slower than, say, the T60, which is heavier and provides better defense?

i am like 90% sure they do drain at same rate.

Its not lore breaking, your armor is far from good condition and it drains much more power than totaly new armor. My car did same trick on me(after 10 years he almost used 2 times more gas).

Fusion cores do last. The ones you have lasted at least 200 years. However the sellsman selling them 200 years ago neglected to mention that is their shelf life. This seems normal salesman overhype for fallout pre-war companies, so completely within lore for the game.

Well I think less should spawn but last longer, however then what about ammo for gatling lasers? Something would have to give.

i dont care about the game mechanis its not lore friendly. also it HAS been stated in earler games that the T-51 built in core lasts for 100 years. In fallout 4 the battery life and even the existance of the removable fusion core is a direct retcon and I will not accept it. The devs have their vision and I have mine. this is the nice thing about PC gaming where I can just go ♥♥♥♥ THAT and toss their vision out the window :D.

I look at it like this.

Fusion Core with a 100 year life span found 210 years later - I think they are lucky to get 30 mins out of a 210 year old fusion core. For me that is entirely lore friendly.

As far as it being "built in", everything is removable....some things are just harder than others.

i play in survival difficulty and using PA armor isn't auto win. ennemies still deal very good damages and you cant run away as easily becaese of short jumps if you don't upgrade the leg to run faster.

But Fusion Core aren't rare you can buy some reliably from merchants and ennemy in power armor drop some, take price reduction skill and fusion core time extention and you will be able to use PA as you wish.

Prior to Fallout 4, mainline power armor used microfusion packs, which were generators, not batteries. You were limited by your supply of nuclear material and that was it.

I found several armor including the T45, a T51 and T60 of the brotherhood of steel. I noticed that with the T45 core melt lasts slightly longer than the T60, can anyone confirm or was it just me ..
Sorry for english..
