Irony is when the outcome or effect of a situation is opposite of what was intended. Taking the shorter 10-minute route but getting stuck in an hour-long traffic jam. Attending a meeting on "efficiency" that last 90 minutes and puts you behind schedule.

Remembering a South Park episode because of the Red Rocket gas station that has a dog? Not irony.
