Bed for player
Does anybody know if there is a way to assign a bed for the player, so that when settlers join, nobody gets assigned to the bed you want to reserve for your own character. So you have a place that you can call yours.

The only way I can think of you being able to do that is to make the bed unavailable from blocking thier pathing so they don't choose that bed. Alternativly you can assign the settlers to beds manually and make sure you leave the one bed for yourself, but that can be tedious with 7+ people.

Supposedly there are rooms for the player to earn in set locations. If that bothers you just move you items to those locations once you acquire them.

that's not really a solution.

Also it makes your house less house like... which is kinda troublesome.

Actually it is you just don't want to do it that way. Only other thing you can do is set up one of the settlements for just yourself. That or wait for a mod to come around that allows PC version of items.

No it's not, the places you are talking about aren't apart of your settlement, they are beds to the side in other places. That's not a solution to the problem of settlers getting assigned to your bed in the settlements that you want to build a house for yourself.

The only way to make a bed exclusive to you, is to assign every settler to a specific bed, one by one. That way no one will use yours.

That doesn't help when you come back and the settlement got a new settler.

Will settlers be locked out of the houses in Covenant?
All NPCs have a key in their inventory, so presumably they shouldn't be able to enter without you around.

i'm just using a place without settlers to store all my good stuff. currently using the house you can buy in diamond city but red rocket is also a good location, just don't build a radio tower

It's the only way - So you'll just have to deal with it, and assign that settler.

Yes - Unless you tear down the doors...which you won't be able to place back anew...

You are going right over the point. The settlements aren't for you that's why you can obtain locations just for yourself. Either do what I have said or just keep complaining about the problem. Not my issue when you don't want to accept how the game is.

Actually you can store your items in the workshops and they can't touch your stuff in there.

Seems a bit stupid that the place you lived before, you wouldn't live again.

Why would you want to? His/her house is ruined; the child taken; and the spouse killed. Who would want to remain there with those sullied memories? Forgetting about the character and their designed life my point still stands. They designed the settlements for NPCs not the PC. You can still make your own building to live in within those settlements but be prepared to deal with annoying NPCs.

All in all these are my final suggestions:
-Use a settlement just for yourself
-Make a house in a settlement and be annoyed by the NPCs
-Use a home obtainable in a set location

the problem with living in an area that is not a settlement is the storage system will not work there, you can not put benches there, or armor racks, the containers in these areas may not be permanent, you have to just put stuff in a bunch and see what you lose.

what i recomend is to use the creation menu to block your bed, and use the menu to unblock it. sorta like a door that you have to use a key to open. its not that bad, though i kinda dont ever use the beds anyway. who needes sleep when you can just take another JET?
