Can't find Preston Garvey

I come back to Sanctuary and I can't find Preston Garvey anywhere. My objective is to talk to him, but the quest marker only leads me to an empty chair in a house. I treid using the console to teleport to him, but it takes me to that same chair, and when I try to spawn him with the console it says invalid ID parameter, even though it just used that ID to teleport me to where the game thinks he is. Help?

I once found him standing on TOP of the house in Sanctuary where the work bench is. I've seen Sturgis there as well.

If you find them there, build stairs up to the roof, talk to him and then go do whatever. He'll be back down when you get back.

You should be glad, Preston gives you an out-time from his minimen quest harrasment for a while, he´ll be back soon enough to continue his tormenting.

you know that you can use Vault Tec Population terminal's vip tracker function to find any companion? (terminal is unlocked automatically when you own the vault tec dlc dosent require completing the quest)

Look, i made that quest, that was very short with Clem the ghoul, after you'll be the Overseer. 'Kay i have mods, but not in Steam game. You have to complete that quest, simple "unlock" command won't working, i think.

PS: Vault Tec Population terminal's very useful , i like that. Even i using that in Sanctuary.

Not. I dont like those middle-ages sh*ts in 2287. BoS is my favourite "team". I have Liberty armors, modern armors, thermal armors AND Dogmeat is my favourite companion, even Strong aswell. Actually i killed Preston ( mod ).

1. you didnt make that quest Bethesda programmers did
2. Clem is a human not a ghoul
3. Vault tec population management terminal is a buildable object that you can place in any settlement without doing that vault tec quest its unlocked from the moment you own the dlc
4. You can still use the VIP tracker from that population terminal to track companions
there are no requirements to finish the quest first
