Can't build artillery?

So I'm on Old guns quest.. And now she want me to build the artillery.. Problem is it wont let me build it.. do i have to place it somewhere specific..?

I am in the same boat. There are a lot of things it won't let me build in the castle, like a water pump either

Ok I found a post about the artillery. Apparently there is a max amount of defense you can have so I had to scrap some of the existing defense items and tehn it would let me place it

Lol that kinda sucks.. but i tryed that and still nothing.. BUT i can build it in the sanctuary..xD

Hey don't know if you resolved it yet. Make sure that you picked up the "artillery supplies" that are lying on the table next to where the plans were. It doesn't indicate you need them, but I couldn't build it until I picked them up.

I've built 2 of them... it just won't let me build a third...

I got it to work next day..xD so maybe the problem just was that i needed to restart it..?

There is a mod that makes it unlimited isn't there?

Found a solution. Go Salvage the Guard Post on the North side. Immediately I was able to create the Artillery.
