Lightboxes?

Okay so fixing up my settlement and I decided to build a big sign with light boxes, it uses over 100 different light boxes which cost me a lot of caps and scavenging resources.

From what I can tell they each require their own power source and cannot use power from pylons.

Is this right? If it is I basically have to go and get the same amount of copper again which took ages and will be left with a really tricky wiring job.

Surely there is an easier method of doing this?

Edit: And do they consume 1 unit each if so will I need at least 10 of the largest gennys? None of this makes any sense.

I've seen a couple of people using light boxes for signs. Pretty sure they all had a ton of generators.

Perhaps a bit late, but on Spectacle Island you have infinite power in the breaker box on the thugboat. That saves you 1/3 of copper as normally you would have 1:1:1 (1 for lightbox, 1 for wire and 1 for generator per power). Also, the wiring in that tetris vid seems a bit of a hastle... you can just wire from lightbox to lightbox and have 1 wire go to your terminal or generator.

No you dont, you get 20 power from the boat, and each lightbox you put down will need 1 power, so if your sign is 100 boxes you will need 100 power.
