Outside the map?

Ok, so there seems to be multiple locations outside the visible map? or the borders to be exact, is it safe to go there or is some kindff instakill if i do get over the edges?

No you can roam in fact one quest will take you out there. Beware though, down south past the border, in what's known as the glowing sea, it's real, real fast.

yea, i'm doing that quest now, i just am very wary with borders in games these days

Idk why no one here knows how to straightforward answer your question. No, going off the map will not instakill you. In fact, much of the map can be accessed beyond the borders. You will eventually reach a point where the game says "you cannot go that way," and there will be an invisible barrier. When you're in the Glowing Sea, however, that area is super dangerous. Bring some rad-x/away and plenty of stimpacks. If you have power armor, wear it.
